New...New?

Sorry to be so boring! Still not much going on around here, Beth's wedding is less than a month away and prom is the week before that so it seems that everything we do is related to one or the other.







My back has had no change, I'm getting very discouraged now, we're getting close to the 4 month mark now and I really think I should be seeing some improvement. It's not like it was when I first came home but it's worse than it was before surgery. No wonder I feel like I'm going to lose my mind. It doesn't help that most people think I'm making it or faking it and I have no idea how to make them see that I'm really in paid. I've pretty much given up and decided if they do believe me that's great, if the don't, well I guess I don't need family and friends in my life like that.






Josh is graduating from NSCC next Friday morning! Now he has to find a job, which isn't very easy around here. So for now he's trying to find something around here for the summer and then if he gets something in the city he will have money saved up to get an apartment. Breanna is almost finished grade 8, next year will be his last year in Jr High, she'll be off to the high school, gahhhhh. How do they grow up so fast?






Anyway, I suppose that I should go figure out what supper will consist of. LOL Have a great weekend everyone!

I have always wanted to have a fireplace, it would be so nice since I seem to be cold more days than not. Today it was +19 and I was in the house freezing. Post Surgery

No, they didn't kidnap me when I went for surgery, LOL. I was actually out of there faster than expected. So I had surgery on Wed. and came home Monday evening. By the next day I was thinking I should have just stayed and enjoyed the IV pain meds for a few more days but it was also nice to be home. We got home at 9 that night, I had a shower, put my jammies on and laid back in my Lazy Boy...and woke up at 5am. LMAO I guess these guys were trying to watch TV and couldn't hear it over my snoring. Hey, I hadn't slept in almost a week, what did they expect?







It's been a rough couple of months, I'd like to say that I was expecting this, well, I guess I was, I just thought I could be the different case. I still have a lot of pain most days, some worse than others, I can go to the laundry room and come back up and be ready to have a nap. Sure takes the life out of you. I see my surgeon next Friday to see how it's healing and see if he will lift some of the restrictions. Like driving and having a bath, I'm so sick of having showers. LOL






I know it's been 2 months since I've blogged but I sure don't have much to tell you. My life has been inside these walls, I haven't been out too much, last weekend we went to Lunenburg to see Doug's Dad, first time I've seen him since January, he's doing well and we can't wait to get him moved up here at Queens Manor.






Josh only has another week of school and then starts his on the job training which we hope will turn into full time employment. Breanna as 2 competitions left and that will be the end of her cheerleading. She's decided for sure this time that if she can't go to the city on a team, she'd rather not be on any. I'm quite sure this time she won't change her mind.






Anyway, I should go have my shower and wish I was having a bath. LOL

Here we go again

Well ready or not it's almost time to go for surgery...again. They better get it right this time because I'm not going back. We just went down this road and got better and it's time to do it again. Surgery is 9:30 Wed. morning as of last week, they'll call me tomorrow and let me know the time for sure. I have to be there at 6:30 am and being short of money this week we can't go in the night before, so we'll be out of here between 4:30 and 5. And since I have to go so early Breanna doesn't want to get up and go so people won't be getting any facebook updates this time.







The rules this time are a bit more strict than they were last but it's still pretty much a 6 month recovery period. If I don't lose my mind it will be a miracle. LOL I'm not allowed to even try to drive till after 3 months and that's for an automatic, which we don't have. The car is just going to be a pain all the way around. It's too low, the seats are too low, I'm not even supposed to get in it. We'll prop me up by putting some pillows on my seat and hopefully that will work.






Anyway, since I am supposed to be packing, I should get back at it. Will check in when I can but don't have internet access at the hospital so it will be at least a week.

Welcome to 2012 folks, we're almost half way through the first month, hope new years was good to all of you. We had a low key New Years Eve, as we have the last few years. Breanna was out babysitting and we had Josh, Alyson and the baby here with us. We wanted to ring in the new year with some fire works but it was a rotten, rainy, foggy night so we had to pass on the fire works.







We got Doug's Dad settled in his new home, down in Lunenburg, he seems to like it so far but it will be nice when they have a place for him in the home here, much better than 45 minutes away. Doug's Mom hasn't been doing too well and is back in the hospital for probably the 4th time in the last couple months. She's been diagnosed with the same thing as Dad, Parkinson's and dementia, strange eh? 2 parents, same diagnoses within 7 months. So needless to say, sooner or later Mom is going to have to go in to a home too. The Dr. wants to talk to us on Monday and I have a feeling this is one of the things he'll want to talk about.






So I finally got a call to book my surgery...again. Feb. 15th will be the day that. Not looking forward to it at all. I know it's supposed to help but knowing I'll be out of commission for about the next 6 months sucks. My niece is getting married in June in Cape Breton so that will be an interesting drive, think it will take all day so we can make lots of stops so I can get out and move around. Breanna is going to be in the wedding as a brides maid and is very excited about it, we've been looking for dresses on line and have it narrowed down to a few.






Anyway, I should go throw the laundry in, the never ending job around here. Have a good one!
