Good morning world. Things are going well here at the IWK. Josh's surgery went well and now it's just the long road to recovery. He had the bladder augmentation done and also had some adhesions that they fixed up. He's got quite a cut on his belly, or it looks like it is, we can't see it too well. He's also got what they call a superpubic tube in his belly, that drains the urine so it doesn't collect in the bladder, giving it time to heal. He was up once yesterday, just from the bed to a chair and today he'll have to get up and try and walk a bit.
Not much sleep to be had in here, Josh always has one machine or another making nosies. He's sleepy and looks like crap. Doug is coming in today and we'll go out for awhile, maybe he'll nap then.
I guess we'll have some company tomorrow, that will be nice, we get tired of looking at each other, LOL. Doug and Breanna are going to come in for the night and stay at a hotel, depending how he's doing I might go stay with them. I think if I laid down in a normal bed I'd be dead to the world for 12 hours or so.
Well it's time to put my laundry in the dryer, see? Even when you leave home you're doing the laundry. There's just no getting away from it.

A snow day in the city
Well that's one less day of school Josh is going to miss, that's good! Josh is doing well, he's hungry, he hasn't eaten anything solid since Saturday and is getting tired of jello. The clean out went well and he's all set for tomorrow morning. He's just waiting for 2pm so he can go hang out in the teen lounge for a couple of hours, he's getting tired of tv and movies.
We've got a nice room all to our selves with a fold out couch that has a 1000 year old matteres on it, my back is killing me. I also found it very cold in here last night.
Anyway, time to go for a walk to Tim's for some tea. Will check in later. You can email us at val.puddin@gmail.com or val_dougw@hotmail.com

Ready or not
Josh and I are in Halifax. It is supposed to snow tomorrow so Doug brought us in tonight. We'll get a taxi to the IWK tomorrow before noon. We are just getting ready for Josh to go for a swim, I've got a cold that I'm trying to get rid of so I'm not swimming tonight, maybe Friday. So we are on our own till Tues. when Doug will come in when he gets Breanna on the bus, Josh will be in the OR by the time he gets here. He's going to stay in for the night and go home on Wed. Then he and Breanna will come back in on Friday for the night. Well Josh is ready for the pool so off we go.

The Monday after a busy weekend
Well Breanna made it through the competition and did very well. She did a wonderful job on her solo. She brought home 2 bronze medals! She was a little upset because last year she got silver in her elements but like I told her, last year the stuff she did was easier. I don't want her getting upset over stuff like that, it will take the fun out of it and when it's not fun anymore, she won't be doing it.
The count down is on till Josh and I head to the city. Only 6 more days, it's going so fast. He has surgery a week from tomorrow and we'll keep our fingers crossed for a fast recovery so we can be home again soon. I've got stuff all over the place that needs to be packed. Tomorrow once I get my skating stuff done I'll make a list, at 36 I have to have a list for everything. LOL
Anyway, time to finish the laundry and figure out what's for supper, I have to work tonight.

Here comes a Nor'easter
And it sounds like our first big storm of the year is on it's way. We've been very lucky so far. Between tonight and tomorrow we could get 10-30 cms of snow, the forcast keeps changing so we don't know for sure what's coming. I'm off today, well except for skating this afternoon. I'm spose to work tomorrow night but that will depend on how much snow is down. One of my co-workers lives a little closer and is right on the main road so she'll probably go in for me if I don't want to go out in it.
Our baby girl is at the vet waiting to have her operation today. I'm sure she's not a happy campper at the moment. Snowball is wondering around the house looking like he's lost. I think he misses her even though she bugs the crap out of him. Josh has pics of the cats on his blog, the addy is over there ---->
For anyone that has been reading but doesn't know what Josh is going to the hospital for, it's called Bladder Augmentation. They will take a piece of his bowel and patch it on to his bladder to make it bigger. Right now his bladder can only hold 3oz. So even though it's going to be hell to get through, it will be worth it in the long run. Right now it's just hard for him to look past the 2 weeks in the hospital.
Well I should go have a nap now that the kids are gone to school, LOL. My back has been bothering me the last couple of days, probably due to the storm that's coming, for God sakes I sound like my Grammie. LOL
Stay tuned, I'm sure tomorrow I'll have some storm pictures to post.
