Saturday night nuffin

So it's Saturday night and my tree is up, I'm wiped right out. I have to keep this blog up just incase LJ decides I can't use that one anymore because I'm doing my PPPosts there and that will piss me off big time because I have paid for that blog. I won't be a happy camper if they delete my blog.

Checkin in

Yawn, I'm just about ready to crash for the night, what a long few days. Kids only have 2.5 days left and they'll be home and underfoot, just when you are trying to get stuff done. I haven't gotten a thing wrapped yet, soon, I keep saying soon.

Welcome back to me

So here I am again, back at my old home. I'm going to start this one up again incase I want to use it with my other one. So I'll be here and there and probably at this point saying the same thing in both places, my life isn't that interesting you know.

I've Moved!

Come visit at our my new location...

Don't forget to bookmark it!

I may take on another blog here, if it works out, so keep checking back. K?

The last day of vacation for the kids

Tomrorow morning it's back on the bus and back to school. By Friday they will be so tired they won't know what hit them. Today they are going out to luch with friends, they get their hair cut at 3 and do the normal check book bags, etc. I have lots to do on my first day off since last Thurs. I have 25 cases of Hershy's chocolate bars that I have to go through and sort before skating registration Thurs. night.

I'm thinking of changing blog spots, I have one in mind but I'll let you know if I switch. Blogger has been a big PITA latley, it won't post pics half the time. So I'll keep checking other ones out till I find one that I like and is easy to use.

Anyway, with a list a mile long waiting for me, I better get some work done. I'll check in tomorrow with back to school pictures!

Taken from CNN...
Steve Irwin, the TV host known as the "Crocodile Hunter," has died after
being stung by a stingray off Australia's north coast. Irwin, 44 was killed by a
stingray barb that went through his chest, according to police sources. Irwin
was filming an underwater documentary at the time

We loved watching Steve and will miss seeing him on TV. He seemed like a wonderful man.

I'm still kicking

What a long, long weekend. I feel like I don't leave the store at all. Still have tomorrow and Monday to get through before I get a couple of days off. I was there at 8 this morning and got out at 5, came home, sooo tired but feeling guilty because I didn't get the kids any new clothes for school. So I ate supper and off we went to the next town to pick up a few things for my darlings.

Josh was so tired and his legs so sore that he'd pick out something and then head out in to the mall to find a bench to sit on. His legs are really giving him a problem. For those that don't know and might be dropping by from Wendy's place, Josh has Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. He's been having some trouble with his good leg and we have to go to the city on the 25th to get that checked.

Had to go up to the ER last night about my itchies, I'm telling you it's driving me mad. What a mess my arms and legs are in with scratches and bruises. The Dr on call thinks it's a nerve thing and my BP was up so that could very well be.

Anyway, time to get to bed, morning will be here before I know it.

It's going to be a long, long weekend

So we're almost at the last weekend before school starts. Sounds like it's going to be a nice one too. I won't see much of it, except from looking out through the window of the store. Oh well, we need the money!

My Dr appointment went okay, ofcourse he has no idea why I'm itchy, could be a problem with my kidneys, could be my nerves, he gave me some pills to try and stop it so we'll see how they work.

I went to the funeral home last night for a quick visit. Didn't get much chance to talk to Belinda because there were a lot of people there, which I knew would happen. I'll give her a call over the weekend to see how she's doing.

My side kick Miss Kimberley is all moved into her new place and is ready for school, I know she'll do well, she better or I'll kick her butt when she comes home. LOL Got that Miss Ley?

Anyway, I'm in the middle of washing bedding so I best get back at it. If I don't check in over the weekend you know where I am...Movie Gallery! Have a great long weekend my friends!

Not a very good day

Today is a very sad, miserable day, for lots of reasons, some of which are:

  • I found out this morning that my friend Belinda's father passed away. Her and I were very close when we were in our teens and I spent most weekends at their house. Her parents were like my parents. Her father was a big guy and I mean big, he's scare you half to death at first sight but then you learned that he was just a big ol teddy bear, such a sweetie. Anyway, Cleve passed away yesterday, so tomorrow night I'll go to the funeral home to see the family and say good bye to Dad Cleve.

  • Today is Miss Kimberly's last day at Movie Gallery. I know she can't wait to leave us but after working with her for over a year I'm going to miss her. I can always make her blush and she can always make me smile. She's heading off to the Valley to school. She'll have to get up every morning, cook and clean, OMG she'll never make it! LOL Just kidding Kimberley, you can do it, make us proud!

  • The last few days my mouth has been killing me, I went to the dentist today and found out I had an infection in my gums, I thought it hurt before but after having him scrape around in there, it hurts more now. So I just started an antibiotic and hope by the time I go back to work on Thurs. it will feel better.

  • I've still got the itchy thing going on, still don't know what's doing it but I see the Dr tomorrow at supper time, maybe he can figure it out.

  • And the last thing that's making it a yucky day is that it's yucky, cold and wet out. I think the sun is suppose to come back out tomorrow, sure hope so.

Shark Pictures

Here's a few of the pictures I took of the sharks when they brought them in, I didn't get a weight of the largest but I'm sure I'll hear by tomorrow.

Sea Fest Weekend

It's Sea Fest weekend here in Brooklyn, it's a big weekend for our little place. Last night we took in the Rita MacNeil concert. Josh was down at the marina all day watching them bring the sharks in. I had to work but will get down tomorrow with my camera and will post some pictures tomorrow night.

My blood work came back a-okay, which is good except for the fact that I am still scratching like crazy and don't know why. This is some kind of torture.

Another week begins

This is the last full week of Aug. boy the time sure has gone by fast this summer. It will soon be time for school and time to get back into a routine again, no more staying up till midnight for the kids.

We had a good weekend, Saturday we were in the Valley and yesterday I had to work and then we had company for supper. Doug spent the day cooking a turkey dinner, it smelled like Christmas when I got home from work.

The kids have been trying to catch the kittens but the kittens aren't having any of that. I try and tell the kids they have to let the kittens come to them or else they will just hide from them.

Today I've been trying to clean up and trying to get my Dr.'s office on the phone, he's been on vacation for 2 weeks so all I'm getting is a busy signal. I have to get a blood work paper filled out, hopefully there will be some clue in my blood work as to why I'm so damn itchy. I don't have a rash and I'm not itchy all the time, it comes and goes. I've got my legs so bruised up from scratching that I won't wear shorts out in public, I look like someone beat me up!

Time to get back to work!

Saturday, August 19, 2006

So what's new?

Well, we just got back from the Valley, we went up to Oaklawn Farm Zoo for the day. It was a warm one that's for sure. I think we'll all be ready for an early night.

We found out yesterday that Mamma kitty, the one that used to live with the lady across the street but now belongs to us, had 2 kittens. She brought them out last night to see us. She's still very timid and won't let us get too close to her and the kittens are the same way. We hope to get the babies to trust us enough so we can tame them and find homes for them. I think homes for them will be no problem, we have a couple of people who want them.

Anyway, short and sweet, I'll catch up on Monday, but here are some pictures from the Zoo to hold you over.

Saturday's Rainbow

Only 2 full weeks left

And summer vacation will be over! I can't figure out where the time went, it seems like they just got out. This is the first summer that I don't have the days counted down until they go back. We've all enjoyed the time off this summer, we've gotten used to sleeping in, boy it's going to suck when we have to get up for school. LOL

We had a pretty good weekend here. Josh and Nathan slept out in the tent Saturday night, we had a bit of rain before dark but once it stopped it didn't rain the rest of the night. It was a cool night and I took 3 heavy blankets out to them to keep them toasty.

Yesterday I got some housework done, does it ever end? I think we did 3 loads of laundry, I think the people next door must drop theirs off too, I do laundry every day and there's always more to do.

Well we didn't win the 649, 44 million Saturday night, of course if we had one I'd be on my way to pick up my money instead of sitting here. LOL But everyone has a dream I guess.

Today will be more housework, a list of chores for the kids to do, which I'm sure they will love me for, I work them so darn hard you know. *insert eye roll here*

Anyway, time to wash my hair and get something done. Have a great week!

Thursday, August 10, 2006

Good Morning World!

I am soooo not used to being up in the morning! I don't work many day shifts and have gotten very lazy this summer. So today is my first of 3 day shifts in a row and it's very strange to be up before 10am. The kids are still sound asleep and will probably still be there when I head out to work.

So what's new, hmmm, not much on our end. The weather as cooled off, at night and in the morning it feels like fall, I'm so not ready for this kind of weather.

The kids and I went shopping on Tues. for school supplies. They are all done except Josh's duotangs. I still have to get them some clothes, not Josh so much, his jeans still fit and I just bought him new shirts in the spring, but Breanna doesn't have any jeans that still fit her.

I applied for a job at a car dealer yesterday, I probably won't get it but there's no harm in trying. It would be full time, I haven't worked full time in many years so that would be different. Everyone thinks just because Doug works at the mill I don't need to work, yea, okay, whatever you think. LOL I don't work because I enjoy it that's for sure. My back has been killing me at work, I'm standing the whole time I'm there, I've been told I shouldn't be standing all the time but where I work we have to. I like my job, love my boss, I know she'll be very upset if I leave but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Jeff and Kelly head home this weekend so we won't see them again till Christmas. But I guess that's not really that far away.

Well I guess it's time to get my butt in gear and get ready for work. Have a great day everyone!

Someone remind me that I'm not 19 anymore

As I've mentioned before, my cousin Jeff is home with his family for summer vacation, when he's home we always have a night out. Last night was our night. Now most times when I go out, by midnight I'm walking around drinking water, not last night, heck now, I'm still drinking rum at 2am. Drunk? Me? Oh yea, probably the most I've had to drink in the 13 years I've been married. But we had a great time! There was Doug and I, Jeff and Kelly, Kelly's brother who I haven't seen in many years, Kelly's step brother and his wife and my cousin Debbie. Donna-Leigh was going back and forth between the guys and galls from her work and us, she had to work today and went home early, which sucked. I got to see lots of people I haven't seen in a long time, got up to dance a few times, almost smacked a Barbie doll wanna be in the head, what a night. We need to do that more. And, for the first time since Breanna was born, we had no kids for the night, yes, the first time in almost 9 years!

I went to bed at 5:30am so tonight is going to be an early night, have a shower, watch a movie and go to bed, like old people like me should!

The pictures from Josh's birthday...

Rained Out!

Well the kids started out in the tent, went to sleep before 12 and were in the house at 3 when the storm hit full force! The lightning put on quite a show, non-stop. So I was up till about 5:30 by then all I was left with was the couch. LOL Everyone is so tired today and ofcourse, I'm the one that has to go to work at supper time, while these guys lay around and swim in the pool, I think it will be the pool more than anything else since I think it's gone past 30 already. I'd post some pictures of the party but Blogger has decided it doesn't want me to, so check back later and see if it is being nice to me. LOL

Happy 13th Birthday To Josh

My boy is 13 years old today, a teenager, how did that happen??? 13 years, 12 surgeries, he's come so far and has made us so proud. Keep up the great work big guy! We love you!
He's having some friends over for supper and cake and one friend is staying out in the tent for the night. It's a little cloudy so we hope we don't get any rain.

We're a tired bunch tonight

Today we went to the Bridgewater Ex. It's sure gotten smaller this year, not as many rides for sure. My cousin Jeff, his wife Kelly and his daughter Megs went too. The kids all did the rides, Breanna was on the Caos twice and Josh was on the Freak Out once, I kept my feet on the ground, right where they belong.

The next big thing is that our little guy turns 13 on Tuesday. I'm going to work on some pictures tomorrow to show how well he's done for the little guy that was never suppose to walk. Guess he showed us eh? He's having a friend or 2 over for the night out in the tent on Tues. No big party or anything like that, just cake and a movie.

I brought a migraine home from the Ex but feel much better now after some of every drug I have in the house, LOL. Damn I hate those things!

I'll check in again tomorrow!

First night in the tent

We got Josh's new tent put up yesterday, with help from Jeff who arrived just in time for me to hand him the instructions. It's a great tent and it was half price, so we're very pleased with it. So we get the air matteresses blown up, 2 double ones, so it takes up the whole floor, drag out sleeping bags, pillows, extra blankets, the portable dvd player and some movies and they are all set. After many trips into the bathroom I thought they were both sleeping so off I went to bed. Shortly after 12 Josh came in to the bathroom and said that Breanna had been asleep but woke up when he was trying to get out. I go back to bed again, till 12:20 when Breanna comes in with all her stuff, it's cold out there and she's sleeping in her own bed. LOL Josh did stay out the rest of the night by himself and came in around 7 this morning because he was cold. It did cool off quite a bit last night, I had to close our bedroom window a bit for the first time in months. So now Josh will get to bed nice and early tonight because he's so tired, and so is Mommy from not sleeping too great, listening for him to come in.

Another year older

Well I tured 37 on Sunday, which isn't bad considering I thought I was going to be 38 so I really got a year younger. LOL Birthdays don't mean much to me, when I was younger it was a good reason for my parents to get drunk and now it's just another day. The kids made me a card, I bought myself a pair of shoes, June and Wendy got me a pair of shoes and the boss Wendy got me a cake. My husband, as per normal, didn't even say "happy birthday" but after 13 years I don't expect it from him.

The girls went out Friday night, well some of us went out, wasn't quite as many as I thought it was going to be. We still had fun though and I thank that ones that did go out, cousins Debbie and Heather and Donna-Leigh. DL had to leave first because she had to work Sat. morning and a woman tried to hit on me, I then decided that it was time for me to go home too. LOL

I have today off, going to help the kids put up the tent, my cousin Jeff and his wife and daughter are home and are coming down for a swim after lunch. I might try and get to town before lunch, Josh needs new sneakers so I'll go see if they got any in that we can have his orthotics put in.

Anyway, time to get dressed and do my hair. I'll check in later in the week.

Peeeee Uuuuuuuuu!

Ya'll know that song, Dead Skunk In The Middle Of the Road? Well there are a couple up the road and I hope that's all of them. Last night there was one down around here, everyone was running to shut the windows, OMG, gross! The wonderful thing of living in the sticks. LOL

So not much to report this week. We went out to visit my friend Kathy at the cabin on Sunday, beautiful afternoon, sat on the deck and watched the kids in the lake.

I worked last night and tonight I work again. Tomorrow night is our Girls night out! And, as usual, it's going to rain, does it every time I go out. I have Saturday off to recover and then back to work Sunday night.

My cousin Jeff and his wife Kelly daughter Meagan head home this weekend for their vacation. Next Sunday we are going to Bridgewater to the Big Ex. The kids are looking forward to the rides, I like to see the animals.

Well I should go finish some house work as much as I'd rather not, but the damn maid hasn't shown up in awhile, I don't know what her problem is. LMAO Have a good one!

For My Sis

The Best Is Yet To Be

On your joyful wedding day,
You begin a brand new life.
Friends and family give their gifts
To joyful husband, blissful wife.

But the greatest gift you'll ever get,
A gift from heaven above,
Is love forever, ending never,
Everlasting love.

You'll share life's joy and pleasure;
You'll have plenty of that, it's true.
But love is the real treasure
For your new spouse and you.

And if life hands you challenges,
As it does to one and all,
Your love will hold you steady
And never let you fall.

You wedding day is full of joy;
Tomorrow you cannot see.
But one thing's sure for the two of you:
The best is yet to be.

A Busy Friday

Breanna and I are getting ready to head out to camp. They have closing ceremonies around 1 and he can leave at 2. Breanna is very excited about her brother coming home, but she wouldn't tell you that. She helped clean up his room yesterday, dusted all his shelves and put the stuff back on, she's made a little welcome home sign for him. I give it about 10 mins and they will be fighting. LOL

I'm taking my camera but can't promise much for pictures today, since I have to go to work before supper. Pictures will probably be up tomorrow night when I get home. He's got a camera that has to be taken in to get developed, I'll scan some of his and post them too.

Sis gets married tomorrow!

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Breanna has a new hair do

I took Breanna over town today to get braids put in her hair, it looks great, I hope it stays in for a bit. It didn't take quite an hour and she was very good at sitting still. Now she can't get her hair in her mouth, which is a new habbit she's picked up.

Josh called last night and talked to his father for a few minutes, didn't have much to say and didn't talk long before he had to go, so all must be going well or I'm sure we would have heard about it. I'm glad he called, that was the part that was driving me nuts, not knowing he was okay.

5 more sleeps till my sis is a married woman. I talked to her on the weekend and she's been very busy getting ready. I still wish I was going to be there but unless we win the lottery tomorrow night, it's not happening. I work all day Saturday so at least my mind will be occupied. The main thing is that her kids will be there, that's really all that matters. I'll be glad when the weekend is over, I've been so upset about not being able to go that I've been taking it out on everyone here and it's not their fault.

Anyway, Breanna is waiting for Miss Megan to come play after she goes to the dentist, so I should go get the cover off the pool and finish up some laundry.

Monday, July 10, 2006

A couple more pctures

These were both taken on Saturday when we were out to a pot luck supper. Breanna took the one of Josh, it's a great picture. The second one is of one of the 2 bald eagles that were flying overhead for about 5 minutes, that was a real treat.

Oh where oh where can my boy be

Silly Mommy, he's at camp, probably having the time of his life! But boy is it ever strange without him here. We took him out yesterday, it was an icky day, humid and rainy. Him and Tyler got their tents set up, Josh's little one for their supplies and Ty's bigger one to sleep in. Oh they are roughing it so bad, they have cots to sleep on and an electric fan. LOL When we unpacked the tent the last thing we find is a 25ft extension cord and a fan, LOL. Doug wanted to know where the microwave was, I'm sure if they would have thought about it...

So he's there till Friday, we hope. I go out at lunch time for the closing, they finish at 2. Then I'll bring him home and tuck him into bed for a week or so. I have to work Friday night and all day Saturday so I won't get to hear many of the stories till Saturday night.

One of my best friends is coming home this weekend from Ont. so we hope to have a sunny day on Sunday so we can go out to the cabin and visit.

Donna-Leigh is on vacation this week so Breanna and I hope to get chance to have her and the girls down for a day or 2. With Josh away and her friend away, she's lost. With my hours and DL's hours we don't get to see much of each other so it will be nice if we can get a visit in.

Well I should go fold some laundry and figure out what's for supper, I have to go to work as soon as Doug gets home, hope tonight is better than last night, it was crazy busy and I wasn't in the best of moods, I was so glad to get out of there.

In Loving Memory Of My Daddy

McLeod – In loving memory of Vic McLeod who left us on July 9th, 2001.

If we could have a lifetime wishand one dream that could come true
We would pray to God with all ourhearts just to see and speak to you
A thousand words won’t bring you back
We know because we’ve triedand neither will a million tears
We know because we’ve cried
You’ve left behind our broken heartsand precious memories too
But we’ve never wanted memories
We only wanted you

It was a busy weekend

The long weekend is over and I'm so glad! It was a very busy weekend between working and taking the kids over to town for the rides and stuff. The rides get more pathetic every year. There wasn't much there and what was there was in rough shape. The prices are nuts for what they have, but since it's the only weekend the kids have anything here in town, it's hard to say no. The parade was a nice one, from what we saw of it. Breanna and I were in it so we just saw the part that went out ahead of us. Anyway, I'll attach some parade pictures, then it's time to get ready for work. Have a great week!

A Very Happy Mom!

The kids got their report cards today, Josh missed 31.5 days since he had 2 operations in grade 7, he got the Principal's Award, a math award, a social studies award and got honors. Breanna had a great one too, the highest she can get is a 3 and she had all 3's except 2 that she had 2+ and 1, 2.

Pictures from the Prom

Be prepared to say "Awwwwwwww"

Meaghan and Brandon - Prom 2006

Summer has arrived

For today anyway...

Today is the first day the kids have been in the pool, there's 6 of them out there right now. The water is only about 68, I don't know how they stand it!
I did some prom pictures last night, my boss's so took a one of my best friend's daughter, when I talk to them I'll ask if I can post a couple of pictures, don't want to do it without asking first, so check back later to see if I have some posted!

Another Yucky Weekend

Rain rain go away! OMG, this is crazy! Back in the winter it was predicted that we would have a hot dry summer, so far that's WRONG! It's been raining all weekend, lots of rain. Needless to say, the Spina Bifida ball tournament got rained out again, so it won't be held this year. So we'll plan on going next year, we just won't tell anyone, maybe it won't rain.

School is just about done, Breanna goes tomorrow, Josh isn't. They both go back on Friday to get report card and will be done until Sept. Next weekend is the long weekend and our Privateer Days. Breanna is in the parade on Saturday. I have Friday night off and Saturday day time. The fireworks are Sunday night this year, stupid IMO. So when it rains on Sunday, they won't be till Monday, should have kept it on Friday, then if it rained chances are they could have done them Sat. or Sun. night.

Had some great news last night, I've been very down, upset about missing Linda's wedding, missing her and Beth and Matt. Had email from Beth last night to say she'd be home for the long weekend. We're all very happy about that. The kids were so excited when I told them she was coming. They love and miss them all as much as I do. I call Linda's kids my first kids, they are so much like own instead of my niece and newphew.

We've started getting stuff ready for Josh to go to camp. He's looking forward to it, I hope he makes it through the week. I know he'll probably sleep for a week when he gets home.

Tonight I have to run over town and see my other mother. It's June's birthday tomorrow and I have to work tomorrow night so I'll take her gift over tonight. Then we'll probably watch a movie and go to bed early, I've had a heck of a headache all day, probably from the humid weather.

Have a good week everyone!

Wednesday, June 21, 2006

Welcome to SUMMER!

Yay! The first day of summer is here! Now if it would start to feel like summer we'd be doing great!

The weekend was good, Josh went to the prom but was very tired that day and had a headache, I think the headache was freaking him out because he had it for a couple of days and he was getting worried that it was his shunt. With some extra sleep it did go away though. Here's a picture of Josh getting ready for the prom...

The kids are in the last full week of school and keeping busy. Josh had homework last night, a test today and that should be it for work for him. Breanna is going to the museum today and on a class trip tomorrow, she has field day on Friday and pizza and a movie day on Monday, boy they have it hard don't they? Then they are off till Friday when they go get their report cards. I'll be working but hope I can get someone to bring them up to the store so I can see the report cards. That weekend is Privateer Days here, it's a busy weekend for everyone with craft sales, boat races, rides, a parade and fire works. I hope we get a nice weekend.

The Spina Bifida ball tournament is this weekend and it sounds like it's going to be rained out again. So Josh won't get to do his job till next June when they have it again. I hope that if it rains the teams still donate their money, it's the main fund raiser for the SBANS.

Well, the laundry is ready to come up and get folded so I guess I should get moving. Have a great one!
