Only 3 more sleeps till Santa arrives! The kiddies are getting very excited and have been told "I'm calling Santa!" more than once in the last few days. I have today off, started with getting a little extra sleep, I've got the laundry done and Doug is up talking to someone about buying the rest of Mom's furniture. Once he gets back and I have the floors done, then we're off to Bridgewater to take back a pair of pants, get Breanna some Chrsitmas jammies and look for something else for Mom. I know what she wants and we didn't have it at work so I got something else, but knowing Mom, she'll never be happy with what I got her, so I'll look and see if I can get a deal in Bridgewater.

Tomorrow it's back to work for 2 days, which isn't too bad, we're all in a good mood and having lots of fun. Having a store full of teenagers helps a lot! So now I should go do my hair and get the floors done, so much to do, so little time! If I don't get back...

It's a wet and windy night

Well it was beginning to look a lot like Christmas, now it's just wet and windy. We had snow all afternoon, it was stormy enough to close the store an hour early so everyone could get home safe and sound, but now the snow has turned to rain and will all be gone by morning I'm sure. It's looking like our hopes of a white Christmas are not going to happen again this year. The long term forecast calls for +7 on Christmas day. :(

I have tomorrow off to try and finish up some things, like Mom's apartment, I hope. Someone is coming tomorrow night to look at the rest of the furniture and I hope he takes it all with him when he goes, then just a few things to take out of the cupboard and a few more boxes to store in the basement, and it will be done, not a moment too soon!

Baby it's cold outside!

I know, it's Dec. we are supposed to be cold, but I hate it! I'm not a cold weather girlie, I'm a warm, t-shit weather girl. LOL I was just born in the wrong place I guess. Mom has been moved back to Liverpool so that saves us the trips to the city, now I just have to find time to go up to see her every day, at least once. Her apartment is just about done, except the furniture and dishes, which I hope to have done by next weekend, hope being the word of the week.

My baby is 10 today!

Today my baby girl turned the big 10, double digets! OMG, I'm getting old! We had a quick gathering for cake tonight, her real party is Friday night when I take her and some friends to Bridgewater for supper and a movie. The rest of the evening I've spent trying to catch a kitten, we have 3 wild kittens in our yard that Momma brought to us, they are little darlings but as wild as can be, I can't get near them! I did manage to pick one up last week but haven't gotten near them since.

Brrrr

We had a couple of days last week that made us think we were back in to the summer months but by Friday afternoon that was all over. Now we're back to the seasonable temps that we should have in Nov. It's hard to believe that we are getting so close to the first of Dec. I've got some shopping done, with just the kids left and a couple of other little things. Work has been very busy for me, this coming week is our 30th anniversary so it's going to be a very busy one, add in that I have to spend Wed. in the city for a family meeting, plus I am working on getting Mom's apartment cleaned out, I'll be glad to see the end of this month come. I've got to call today to get a dumpster taken up to her apartment, there's just too much junk that has to be thrown out, so I think this is the way to go. It sucks that it's all left for 2 of us to do though, Aunt Barb and I are going to be ready for a vacation by the time it's over with.

We're almost half way through another month

Here we are, almost half way through November. At least I can say I have started my Christmas shopping, which is more than I can say most years at this time. Now I'm starting to panic about doing the rest of it, wondering just where the time and the money will come from, same worry every year, but we always get through it.

I'm still not feeling too great and that's not making me happy, but I can work now, so that's the main thing. I have a very hard time staying awake until 9pm, obviously I'm low on something, had blood work done last week and maybe that will say what I need.

Not sure if I'll go to the city this weekend or not, Mom can't go back to the apartment so that means I have to get her stuff moved out of there before the first of the year. That's not going to be an easy job, she has so much junk and it's such a mess, going to take awhile to get it done. Tomorrow I'll start dragging boxes home from work so maybe this weekend we'll get that started.

Anyway, time to hit the lazy boy!

Josh has found a new love, paint ball, mind you it's an expensive hobby but he's having a great time with it. It looks fun and if I didn't think I'd kill myself running through the woods, I'd probably give it a try. Mind you, tonight it's all he can do to walk, he has to hold on to the wall to get around, but them's the breaks when it comes to his legs, you play, you pay, he's quite used to it.

Supper tonight didn't agree with me too much, I'm got terrible cramps tonight, I just hope that they go away before bed time and I don't have to put in a night like I did last Sunday night. Now that it's been narrowed down to 2 things, I don't want to Google either of them till we know which one I'm dealing with and how bad it is. I'll make an appointment with my Dr tomorrow after finding out how long it will take for the biopsy's to come back. I don't want to take any more time off work, I've had more than my share in the past few weeks, all because of being sick.

It's almost Friday

And all I can say is bring it on! I'm beat, mentally and physically, for sure. I got off work tonight and went right to the hospital to spend time with Mom, I'm not sure she even wanted me there, which makes it harder, tonight it was like, I was bothering her, I just felt like I should take her dirty clothes and run. In my eyes she's not only not getting better, she's getting worse, and I can see it every day. Sucks...

Fall has found us

Well Fall has found us, yesterday morning the windows in the truck were frosted up, I guess there's no getting away now! LOL Not much new to report, busy busy with work, the kids, and Mom. We've also been looking at trading in our Escape for a truck, not sure if that's going to be a go but we're looking, it all depends on the $$ aspect of it all. Tomorrow I work 1-9 and have to make some calls to get information about what the next step is with Mom, we don't know what's going to happen to her and where she's going to go, I just hope it's not a process that takes too long.

What's in your garage?

If you have a garage, what do you do with it? We don't have one but would I ever love to! Doug and I have often looked at the different kinds of garages that people have. I'd even love to have one that wasn't joined to the house, just so we'd have the storage space. Everything that is stored in our basement would be in the garage, lawn mower, bikes, tools and more tools! Once everything got moved out, we could finish the basement with all that extra space that we'd have!

Whew, are you sure it's Oct.?

If I didn't know better, I'd think it was still Aug. It's almost 6:30 and the temp is still 16. Now there's a little rain coming down so it's getting muggy along with being warm, we sure aren't used to this in Oct.

The kids and I went up to the hospital to take Mom her 7-up and pick up her laundry, she's still doing about the same, she was dressed tonight, instead of just wearing her night dress they got her to put on her pj pants and a T-shirt, which is good. She was growling because she doesn't have a jacket up there, not sure where she thinks she's going that she needs a jacket!

I'm just sitting back and waiting for bed time, I'm so sleepy, last night I spent the night going from my bed to the couch and didn't get much sleep, I hope tonight is better. It's so weird not going to work for a few days, I'll be spoiled rotten and not want to go back, no I shouldn't say that, I miss it, once you are in a routine it's hard to do something different. I'll be glad to get back to normal again.

Still sniffing

I'm still at it but hope by tomorrow this time it will soon be getting better. Not much new to report on this end, I haven't left the house in couple of days except to go to the Doctor, nothing too thrilling for sure. Tonight is registration for cheerleading, Breanna can't wait for it to start, and Mom can't wait for her to burn off some of that energy she has. Without skating this year she needs some place to burn off the energy and the calories! I think this is going to be a great thing, Tina is going to make sure they understand that they have to work at it, every day.

Not much new to report on Mom, she's doing about the same, no better, no worse. I'm going to start getting some of her utilities shut off that she's not going to need any time soon, like her phone and cable, it's stupid to pay for it when she's not going to be there, the rest can wait till we find out if she's going to be going home again, which I don't think will happen but it's still too soon to tell.

Hey from the land of the sick

I just hope this isn't a sign of what's to come for winter, I've been sick for almost 2 weeks with no sign of it going anywhere soon. Mornin!

It's a beautiful fall day here in NS. The nights and early mornings are quite cool but by 10am the sun is warming things up quite a bit. I've had to turn the heat on a few times to take the chill off first thing in the morning.

Not much been going on around here, besides working and helping the kids with homework. Josh always has lots, a sure sign of what's to come of grade 9. The first school dance is tomorrow night so he's looking forward to that. Breanna is running for class rep. and went off today to school with her speech all ready and still struggling with the word "representative" LOL.

Back to work tomorrow

Another weekend has come to an end, boy they fly by fast. It's been a weekend of bad news around here, a family in town lost their 13 year old son, tonight we found out that friends of ours lost their house in a fire, thank God the family are safe. Such scary things.

We didn't do much this weekend. Got some housework done, went and did some visiting tonight and then started the battle to get kids ready for bed early enough that they can get up for school in the morning, they aren't back in their routine yet and I'll be very happy when they get to that point.

The last days of summer

Summer vacation has come to an end. One more day and the kids are back in school. The say they aren't ready but I think they are. It's time to get back in to the routine for all of us. Today is the last day of the long weekend, we've had a good weekend, not doing much besides being together, we've gone for drives, done some last minute shopping and played with the Wii. Today the pool is coming down, with the nights being cold, any warmth that it picks up during the day it loses at night, so we decided that it was time to take it down so it can dry off before we put it away in the basement for the winter. Once we get it away, we'll move the trampoline over to where the pool was, until it's time to put that away too. I hate the thought of summer being over, the cold and snow will be on us in no time, I hate winter.

Another weekend just about here

This one doesn't sound like it's going to be too great weather wise though. And unfortunately it's our community's big weekend, SeaFest. Another unfortunate thing is that I work all weekend, sucks, but I agreed to do the weekend before I realized what weekend it was and I wasn't going to go back on my word. So I get to sleep in tomorrow for a bit and go to work at lunch time. Once there I get to hang out back in the staff room and get next week's flyer done. I'm still having some trouble with this part of my job but plan to nail it next week, no matter what. I have all weekend to make sure it's done right and that's what I plan to do.

It's a beautiful day here on the South Shore of NS. You can feel that summer is coming to an end though, the nights and mornings are quite chilly at times. We don't have any big plans for the weekend, I was going to take the kids to do some back to school shopping but I just don't feel like doing that today. I did go to town and picked up a few supplies so my list isn't quite as big now. Tonight we've been invited to go over to a friends house for a drink and I think we might just do that. The kids can go with us and I'll stick to pop so that I can drive home. It will be a nice night to sit out by the fire and relax.

We have a pool in our yard for the summer, I don't get much use of it but the kids love it. I would much rather have one of the beautiful hot tubs that you can buy on line these days. So along with the potatoes we had chicken, corn, pasta, and some other vegies, gezz I hope these guys don't expect that every day this week!

Our little kitten has found a new home, she's fitting right in and loving it I guess. We sure do miss her. Her Mom isn't feeling well again, we're feeding her and keeping her water dish full and hope that she can pull out of it again, she's a strong girl.

A day off

Baby it's hot outside!

Yes, I know, a few days ago I was saying how summer was never going to come, well guess what, it did! Wanted...Summer

Josh's regular school days are over, exams start on Monday and he'll be finished on Thurs. TGIF

Yay! We made it to FRIDAY! Today was a great day, I was in a very good mood all day, for some strange reason, maybe just because it's Friday, and payday too! Big plans for the weekend include sleeping in, going out with the gang from work tomorrow night and of course, sleeping in again on Sunday. Might have to throw in some, ha, lots, of house work, at some point over the weekend.

On Monday my honey has to leave for the week for work stuff so it will be just the kids and I for the week. And next weekend is the Spina Bifida Slowpitch tournament in the city so we'll be in there all day on Saturday, I can't wait!

Could it be?

Could that be spring peeking in this morning? We thought it got here a couple of weeks ago but that was just a cruel joke, we went from nice warm days to cold and wet days, urggg. I can't wait for spring but I think we're heading right in to summer again this year. So here we are at the beginning of another week, going to be a busy one on our end. Doug is on vacation and like a good hubby he got some house work done for me today, gotta love my man. The start of a new week

But this week won't be quite as busy as last week. I went away for a few days on course and had a great time, learned lots of things that I can use at work and at home with the kids, which is a bonus. We spent 2 nights at the Ramada in Dartmouth, Tues. night Michelle and I hung out at the pool and played on the water slide, Wed. night we did some shopping and after class on Thrus. we came home. Today I went to town to pick up a few things and came home and had a visit with DL, Doug's cooking up a storm and we'll have birthday cake for him after supper, his birthday is tomorrow but that's my night to work so we'll have it today.

A yucky Sunday evening

So much for the beautiful weather we had last weekend, the last few days it's been cloudy, cool and today we have lots of rain. Today was Breanna's last day at the rink, she did her test for her Dutch Waltz and passed, a whole lot of work for less than a minute. LOL It was good to come home and empty out her bag and put everything away. I still have to pack up her dresses for the summer, there's probably a few of them that I could sell since they won't fit her next year and I'm not even sure that she's going back next year, right now she says she's not but we know how minds can change.

Today was a beautiful spring day, finally! We've had snow, wind, rain, hail, everything but sun and warm temps, until today. Of course, I spend the day looking out from in the store but I did sit out for most of my lunch hour so it wasn't all a waste.

It's been a busy week here, my sister came home for a funeral, her husband's brother was killed in a MVA. A bad reason to have to come home but it's great to have her around for a couple of weeks. The funeral was today and I haven't talked to her yet today, haven't really spent much time with her at all but I know we'll have some time once things settle down for the family.

It was a good week

It's a snowy Saturday

So I guess the weather man knew what he was talking about when he said the snow was coming, it's here and it looks like it plans to stay awhile. You'd never know to see the 2 of us that we aren't blood related, he's been my cousin for most of my life and even though as kids we fought like brother and sister, I love him so much and miss him when he's not here, he's just like the brother I always wanted. The kids were pretty upset that Kelly and Megs didn't come home too but they'll be home for vacation in July and we'll get to spend lots of time with them.

A long weekend!

Happy Easter weekend folks! One more sleep and the big old bunny will be hopping along the bunny trail, or by the sounds of the forcast he'll be coming on a sleigh, we didn't have a white Christmas but we may just have a white Easter, screwed up or what?

We went out last night with a bunch from work, it was an okay night, not great by any means, not by any fault of theirs though, just some stuff going on that makes it very hard to be happy.

Breanna and I are in the process of dying eggs, we have one still left in the dye and then we have to wait for them to dry so we can move on to the painting with foamy paint, sounds messy eh?

A lazy Sunday

I didn't get out of bed till 11 and haven't done much since. LOL Not that I don't have anything to do mind you, I have lots of housework that needs to be done along with the fact that we have company coming for supper, Doug and his great ideas. I think some K.D. would have been the perfect supper for tonight, I don't feel like cooking or doing the clean up that comes with having company. We were out last night till about 1, we had a great time, I didn't drink seeing as I was the driver for the night, I can't have a good time and drink when I know my kids might call and need me to come home in a hurry, I guess I'm a Mom 1st and party animal 2nd. LOL Well I guess I should try and get some work done, before I know it tomorrow will be here and I still won't have anything done!

Gotta love Friday! Even better is when it's Friday and you know you have 2 days to sleep in, no skating this weekend! We have no plans at all, so it's time to get caught up on some house work and some sleep. I also have lots of blogging to do, I just got sent 21 assignments, that should keep me busy for a few hours or days. Today was a long Friday at work, most times Fridays go by fast but for some reason today it didn't. It's been very busy, the next 2 weeks I'm sure will be more so, with Easter coming up. Boy the candy and it all looks so darn good, can't help but buy some of it!

Good Tuesday Morning

Tuesday means it's night shif day, which isn't so bad, I get to laze around in the morning, get my housework done, have some dinner and then head to work. Today I didn't do much besides my laundry and some banking, other than that I'm still in my jammies for another hour.

It's so darn miserable looking outside I don't even want to go out, we woke up to snow and now it's plus 2 and the rain is pouring down. Good day to stay home with a good book.

If you read my other blog you know we've been having some health issues with Joshie, the past 2 days he's feeling better and I hope it stays that way. As much as I'd love a vacation, the IWK isn't my ideal vacation spot, the meals aren't that great and the beds are worn out. LOL But on the other hand, the Drs and nurses are the best there is, in our opinion anyway.

Water bottle filter

I'm always looking for good water bottles. Breanna has to take one with her every time she skates, plus I like to have an extra that she can take to school.
