Happy New Year People!

Happy New Year to my friends and family! May we all be bless with a wonderful 2006. I don't have a saying this year, I can't come up with anything that would beat my "Troll Free in 2003" diddy. LOL Oh yea, then I had "Trolls out the door in 2004". Now I'm old and have no imagination, maybe toinght when I get home from the dance. LOL

I know, no pics from Christmas yet, my computer is acting freaky, imagine that, it's paid for this week and I think it knows it. I didn't take many pictures anyway, so they are staying on the camera till I know they will get from point a, the camera, to point b, my computer. Maybe we'll get some good pics tonight at DL's. :)

And so for the last time in 2005, have a great one everyone!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! The weekend the kiddies have all been waiting for has come and it will go just as quick. I think I'm ready, not sure yet, I might be sure by tomorrow night. LOL I have to work tonight until 10 and tomorrow until 5 then we are off to my in-laws for the family pot luck supper.

It's a bittersweet time for me, I love to watch my children enjoy Christmas time but I also miss my family. My Dad and Nan, my Grammie and Grandfather, my Mom, who turned into a troll and I have nothing to do with and my sister and her children who are on the west coast.

Here's a poem I like to read around Christmas time:

Christmas In Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees
around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular,
please wipe away the tear.
For I am spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear.
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you,
the joy their voices bring,
for it is beyond description,
to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not so far away,
we really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones,
you know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory
of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious
than pure gold.
It was always most important
in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other,
as my Father said to do.
For I can't count the blessings or love
He has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and
wipe away that tear.
Remember, I am spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

Birthday party pictures

Oops! I forgot to post pictures from Miss Breanna's 8th birthday, so here ya go!

Good morning world

It's a grey day out there, here on the south shore of Nova Scotia. They are calling for 5-10 cms of snow before tonight. The panic was on last night when we realized Breanna didn't have any boots. So off to the store we go to get boots so now it's not calling for as much snow as it was.

Josh got his report card last week, great marks! First year in Jr. High and off for a week for surgery and he still pulled off a good report card. He had 98 on science, much better than his mother ever did. LOL

Breanna's Christmas concert is tomorrow night so she'll be all dolled up to sing a few songs. I hate going to the concerts, so many people, the older I get the more I hate crowds.

Well I think I'll head off for a nap, LOL, or try to anyway. Have a great one!

Good Morn...oops...Good Afternoon!

I went back to bed this morning when the kids left for school so I'm not sure what time of day it is. LOL Been working lots this week, split shifts and lots of nights so I'm very tired. I work tonight and then again in the morning so I thought I'd grab a few extra zzzz's when I had the chance. I'll be glad when Sunday gets here. I work tonight, tomorrow, Friday night and Saturday night. Saturday afternoon is Breanna's birthday party, we are going to paint some pottery. Then on Sunday Nanny & Papa will come down for supper and cake, because Sunday is her birthday.

Today I have to take Josh to the pediatrition for his check up. We went to the city on Monday to get his leg checked. The Dr said it looks good and showed me the x-ray of his foot, it looks so weird with those big staples in it. He isn't impressed that Josh is still having pain, since he doesn't have feeling in most of his foot. But he's got permission to go back to normal as much as he can.

Speaking of Drs appointments, I have to go for my yearly CAT scan next Friday on my back. I'm sure it won't show much different but Gary likes to check to see how much worse it gets every year.

Along with everything else this weekend, we'll try and get the Christmas lights up so I can turn them on the 1st. I'll soon start to panic about not being ready, I do it every year. I'm sure if I sat down and figured out what I have to get it won't be as much as I think. It'll come and go just as it does every year.

Anyway, time to dry my hair and get the laundry done, Josh will be home at 2 and we'll head to town for his Drs appointment.

LATER Peoples!

Older pictures

I found some of my older pics and thought I'd share.
This one was taken the same place that I took them this year. I love this one, can't you see the attitude!?!
This was taken just a month or so before Grampie passed away.

This one must have been the year before he got sick.

Off to the vet today

Time for my shots, oops, I mean Keisha's shot. She's also getting her nails trimmed, damn they are sharp! She's such a little brat! She's does not like to cuddle at all, little meanie. While I'm in Bridgewater today I'll go over to the theater and pick up our Harry Potter tickets for this weekend. DL and I take the big kids, it's a yearly thing. LOL We are going to try and make the 6:30 show since DL has to work Sat. morning and I have to work Sunday morning.

I've been sitting here downloading Christmas music, I'm too lazy to go try and find my CDs from last year. I'm a happy woman now that I found Chrismtas in The Valley, that was my Dad's favorite Christmas song.

So besides the vet today, I have to go pick up some stuff at Sears, go to Breanna's school and order her school sweatshirt, pick Josh up at his school because he has a yearbook meeting and then come home, find some supper and head to CanSkate.

Later people!

So here it is, Monday again

And I was giving Josh a hard time about being a slack blogger. LOL BTW, he did manage to update, so go check it out, the link is over there ---->

Not much new this week. We went out to do pictures for our Christmas cards yesterday and actually got a good one. I've ordered the cards and they are being shipped tomorrow. So everyone who is on my list will have very nice cards this year! LOL I love them, I don't even have to sign them, even better, now if I could have gotten them to address the envelopes for me I'd be all set.

Monday morning madness

What a day, and it's only 8:21am. Today was Josh's first day back on the bus in the morning. I get up at 6:45 and he's still snoring away, not a good thing when the bus comes at 7. He got up, took his pills, got dressed and drank a Carnation Instant Breakfast and was out the door by 7. Yesterday was his first day since surgery that he didn't have to take any Tylenol at all, so it's getting better.

Had a call from my big sis last night, seems her ex, that I hated with a passion because of the way he treated her and the kids, was found on a boat, dead. I can't believe he died of natural causes, the man was such an ass that nobody liked him. So word is now getting around that he's gone and everyone is calling to see where I was on the weekend. Nope, wasn't me, he's on the west coast, I'm on the east. The strange thing was, even though I could not stand Greg, I did feel a little bad when Linda told me. See people? I'm not totally heartless as some think I am.

Plans for today are to hang out with my buddy Brian, while Wendy and June go to the city. I also have to get everything ready for CanSkate tomorrow, since I work all day tomorrow. I'm just glad I'm feeling better today, I've had a headache since Friday night. Gawd I hate migraines! I'm so glad I don't get them as much as I used to.

Application to date my daughter

I was looking around on the web for an application to date my best friend and came up with this page, I think I'll book mark it for future use. LOL

TGIF

Yay, Friday is here and I have the day off, well kinda, I'm waiting for my Avon order to get here, then I'll be busy for awhile getting that ready to deliver.

Tonight I'll head over town to do some visiting then go to the Movie Gallery to see if our new movies came in. If they did then I'll come home and watch Christmas with the Kranks. We also have one of my favorites coming in, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I've always loved Willy Wonka so we went to see Charlie in the theater, it was a good movie, not as good as the first but not as bad as I thought it would be. Tomorrow I work from 3:30-11:30 then come home and sleep for a couple of hours and go back in for 9, get off at 1 and head to the rink for CanSkate. I still can't get my camera to take a good picture in the rink, that's why I haven't posted any. I'll take it again this weekend and see if I can get it set right.

The planning has started for Breanna's 8th birthday. The poor kid never gets to have much of a birthday party, being it is 4 weeks before Christmas. So this year I'm taking her and 4 friends to KilnTime Pottery Studio. There they will get to paint some pottery for an hour then pig out on cake. Depending who I have to take in the van with me, we may then head to Wal-Mart so Breanna can do some shopping, then I'll probably have to come home and go to work. We are having her party the day before her birthday because her birthday is on a Sunday and she'll have skating.

I've gotten a few Christmas presents bought, but can't tell you what, because that would be the time Josh would visit my blog. LOL The couple things I got yesterday in the mail need to be moved to Nanny's house tonight so little people don't go snooping. I know I did it and I also know it ruined Christmas, why be excited about something you've been playing with for a month. LOL

Speaking of Christmas, I plan to work for a bit on Christmas day if I'm needed. Once the kids get up and open their gifts they don't care if I'm not around for the afternoon. And since we don't have much for family, except Doug's parents, we don't do much on Christmas day anymore. It used to be so nice when I had parents and Linda was here. Now I have none of my family around, the only people I will hear from will be Linda and Aunt Barb. I don't go to any family functions for my side, not because I don't like my family, just because I'm not too comfortable around them anymore. And I'm too old to put myself into situations where I want run and hide. And no I'm not feeling sorry for myself, I don't mind the way things are now, I love my husband and my kids, they are all the family I need and even though my sissy is on the other side of the country, I love her just as much.

So now that I've gotten all mushy and stuff, time to go finish my laundy. LOL Who wants to work on their day off, gezzz.

PIctures from last night

Josh didn't make it too far but he got enough and his sister is going to share with him, see how sweet she can be?
Josh loved his costume after I got him done up, his story is, he fell off a cliff and was attacked by sharks. LOL

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to everyone! I can't believe it's the last day of Oct. Tomorrow the Christmas stuff will hit the stores big time.

I'll head out tonight with Breanna and Doug will take Josh in the van. Breanna is going to be a "Pink Lady" as seen a few posts ago. Josh is going to be an accident victim, without the cast. LOL

Josh went back to school again today, he stayed home on Thurs. since he had his cast of and is learning to walk on that leg again. He had to take his crutches to school with him though, since it's still swelling and causing quite a bit of pain.

Anyway, it's off to catch up on some house work and then send my Avon order.

Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee

Here comes Wilma!

The wind has picked up and it's raining quite hard, Wilma is on her way. I guess it's spose to track south of NS so we shouldn't get hit quite as bad as they thought. I'm sure that our power will go out though, it always does. I've got water in the tub to flush and food that doesn't have to be cooked.

I came down with a cold last night, today I'm feeling rotten. I've got a very sore throat, I hope it doesn't last too long. So I'll spend the day taking it easy so I'll have the energy to do CanSkate at supper time.

Tomorrow we are off to the IWK to get a new cast for Josh, his just isn't going to make it another 4 weeks. The crack in the bottom is moving quickly. I hope they take it off and put on a new one. The one he has now was soaked in blood the day he had surgery, that's so gross. So with any luck they will take that one off, clean up his leg and put the new one on. Maybe the Dr will have some idea if what he did is going to work or not when he gets a look at it.

Anyway, off to get the clothes in the dryer while we still have power.

Monday, October 24, 2005

Yucky morning

Who wants to get up on a day like today. Rain and wind, ick. I think it's time to crawl back in bed for a nap.

Josh is doing well, his cast is still not holding up so I think he'll have to go in this week and get that made stronger. He got his mid-term report back and had all B's and BC's. We were happy. He's doing great so far in grade 7.

Breanna did very well in skating yesterday, I think she shocked herself a few times with what she can do. I wish my camera took better pics in the rink. I'm going to have to buy one of the disposable camers and see if they take better pics, I guess it's because the lighting sucks.

I have today and tomorrow off, yay! I stayed up till 1am doing CanSkate stuff. I still have some to do today to get ready for tomorrow, but not too much. It's getting a little better. I still make mistakes and then feel like crap when I do but oh well.

Anyway, off to catch a nap.

Picture of Josh and Keisha

Is it spring yet?

Gezzz, we're only into our 2nd week of fallish weather and I'm sick of it already. I hate fall and I hate winter. If I had my way, once it got cold I'd stay in the house till spring.

Josh is bored, that's a good thing. This is the first day he's been feeling back to normal enough to be bored. So can everyone guess where he'll be tomorrow this time? You got it, back in school. He's doing very well, he doesn't use the crutches very much anymore. The appointment time came yesterday for his cast removal, not till the 21st of Nov. That's just one day short of 6 weeks in the cast.

I've been keeping very busy with work and CanSkate stuff. Sunday was a day from hell at CanSkate but I hope today will be a better one and I can get more of a handle on what I am suppose to be doing. I just finished up all the paper work that I had to do. It's only taken me since I got off work Sunday night to get it all done.

I'll try and remember to take the camera to skating with me, I'm not sure how the pictures will turn out with the new camera, our last one you couldn't take pics in the rink because they came out too dark, I hope this one will be better.

We made it!

Another one over with! We got home on Wed. afternoon, only one night in the hospital. He's doing well, has had a little swelling that had us worried but we are keeping an eye on it. It's hard to keep him down with his leg up. They ended up having to put in 2 staples instead of one and he's in a cast for 5 weeks instead of 3. I think he'll be home till the middle of next week, I don't want to send him back too soon and run into problems. You can read about his operation and see pictures at www.puddinJr.blogspot.com For some good news, we are getting a new baby on Sunday, her name is Keisha and she's 8 weeks old.

Isn't she a sweetie? Oh and I didn't change the text on the picture, she's not a "maybe" anymore, she's moving in on Sunday at 10am. LOL

And we're off

Just getting the packing finished with the last minute stuff and we'll be on our way to the city. With the heavy rain last night there's probably a lot of water on the road so we don't want to have to rush. I'll let ya's know when we are home, until then, Donna-Leigh will have any news from Halifax so if you check with her, she'll know what's going on.

Friday, October 07, 2005

And the running begins

I've got the suitcases out and have started packing. I have a list of what else has to go in them. I hate getting to the city and remembering I forgot this or that. I've rented a pager for the next few weeks so if someone is looking for us when we are in there or wants us to call, they can page me and I can go outside and call them back on the cell phone.

Josh is gone for a bike ride with his best buddy, Nathan. He needs the fresh air, maybe he'll sleep tonight. He gets worried before he has surgery and can't sleep, then gets cranky and then I get cranky.

Doug gets off at 4 and is then on vacation, well unless he gets a call in tomorrow. He'll be off for the week and gets to make a few trips back and forth to the city.

I've been having a down day, not sure why. I have been feeling good after having the B-12 shot last week but the feeling only lasted a few days, I'm not sure if my body absorbed it too quickly since I was so low or what is going on. I guess it's a good thing that I work all day on Sunday, that will keep my mind off things. I'm also upset cuz my sis is getting married on NYE and I can't be there, I didn't think it was going to bother me but it is. I've even though about asking Doug to buy me a ticket for Christmas and only staying 2 days, but I know in the back of my mind that it's not even a sensible idea, that's a long way away for 2 days, so I guess pictures will have to do. It's just hard with her pretty much being my only family and being so damn far away. I miss her more now than I did before she came home in the spring. It just sucks...

Anyway, time to cook supper.

Later!

Oh yea...

I forgot to add this link, I thought it was funny...

http://www.adcritic.com/interactive/view.php?id=5927

Damn this can't be healthy!

I just came up from doing 30 mins on the treadmill, I swear that can't be good for you. I think I need chocolate! I've been taking the Green Tea suppliments, I can't stand to drink the stuff, but I have lost weight, that's the main thing. Now if I could have a tummy tuck we'd be in business!

I've started to pack a few things for our hospital stay next week. I've got lists made, I'm known for forgetting something important then I have to go buy it. Staying in there costs enough without adding to it for stuff I forgot.

Breanna is wishing the next week away, heck with Mommy going away for a few days, CanSkate starts! She can't wait to get back on the ice. Here's the link for our skating club...
http://queenscountyblades.tripod.com/index.html I am the Chair person for CanSkate this year but luckily a friend has agreed to help me out and Co-chair. There will be times when I can't be there so it's good that there are 2 of us to share it.

Yesterday I went out and hung a bunch of ghosts all over the front yard, I tried to take a picture but they don't show up, maybe if I take one after dark it might work. I'll try and remember tonight.

Anyway, my laundry is calling, or it's those damn voices again. LOL

TGIF

Thank God It's Friday! That means I get to sleep in tomorrow, I don't go to work till 4pm. I had to get up early this morning and take Doug to work at 5:30, came home and got another 90 mins of zzz's and now I'm getting ready to head to work.

Josh had his first school dance last night, I guess he had a good time, didn't dance or talk to the girl he likes, but had a good time anyway. LOL

After I get off tomorrow night I don't go back till next Thurs. that will give me a good chance to get everything in order before we go to the city with Josh on the 10th. We have to go in for his pre-op appointment and then we'll stay at the Holiday Inn for the night so he can do some swimming.

Anyway, hi ho hi ho, off to work I go!

Tuesday, September 27, 2005

Good? Morning

Rain Rain Go AWAY! I got a call last night to go into work today, Doug had to go in for 7 so we were all up early. It was still pitch dark when Josh went out to the bus, we need to get a better back light so he doesn't fall off the steps one of these mornings.

The bus just picked up little Miss Cranky Pants, she doesn't do mornings very well. She had 30 mins from the time she got ready for school till she had to leave and still waited till the last 2 minutes to have a fit because she couldn't find anything to take with her. It's a wonder I'm not bald!

Anyway, off to work, have a good day everyone! Run between the rain drops!

Breanna's Joke of the Day

Why did the golfer take 2 pairs of pants?

Incase he got a hole-in-one!

Pictures of my kiddos

One was taken at Oak Lawn Farm last month and the other was the first day of school.
Wow, over 2 years since I was here. LOL I forgot all about it till I DL changed hers. So what has changed and what has stayed the same.

On the same front, my mother is still alive and is still a Troll, some things never change.

On the changed front, I've worked at the Call Center, did home care, worked at Saan and now work at the Movie Gallery. Love the job I have now and hope to stay there. The boss is great, the hours are great, just about everything is great, with one minor problem, but there's always one thing right?

Josh started Jr High this year and Breanna started at the Dr John C Wickwire. They are growing up! Josh is keeping busy on the year book staff, he seems to love it. He's also getting ready for operation #12 on Oct. 11th. He's going to have staples put in his ankle to try and make it more straight and we hope to make the pain go away or at least lessesn.

Doug was away last week for some training in Nfld. He had a great trip but I think he's glad to be back with the kids and I. It was strange having him gone away, in almost 12 years we've only ever been apart for a night or 2. We missed him big time! So much for all the people in Liverpool who took bets on how long we would last eh? We've been together for 11.5 years and plan to stay that way for the rest of our lives.

We've got 2 weddings coming up on New Years Eve, my sister is getting married to her old boyfriend that I told you about in the other post and my brother is getting married to a lady he met when he moved to Bridgewater. I won't be going to either, Linda's because it's too far and too much $ and I won't go by myself and leave my family at home, Ricky's because the Troll will probably be there and I don't need that crap in my life. So we'll send along a gift and our love to each.

I just realized something, 17 years ago today was a terrible day. Linda and I went to Yarmouth for her to have her mamogram and came back to find our Grandfather had a stroke and wasn't doing too well, later that night he left us. My Grandparents were the most special people in the world, without them, Linda, Rick and I would never have had as good a life as we had. Many times they had to step in and take over being our parents, times when my mother decided life was too much and she'd just go in her shell, forgetting that she had 3 children she brought into the world. I miss my Grandparents every day and wish they were still here with us.

Anyway, time to go crawl back in bed, will try to remember that this is here and try and keep up my blog now. Maybe I should let someone know it's here eh? LOL Otherwise I'm the only one that reads it.
