A long overdue update

I know, I know, it's been forever since I've blogged a regular blog, don't worry about it, I didn't forget, I thought about it every day but so much has gone on in the last month that I didn't know how to put it all together. So first, my surgery on Oct. 20th. I went in and got taken in about an hour or so late, for awhile it looked like I wouldn't be having it at all because they were low on beds. Anyway, finally got in to the OR and the first thing they do is look for a vein for my IV, right then I should have known how the day was going to go and got up and left. It took them about 20 minutes of looking, they even tried in my neck and had just called for the ultrasound machine when they finally got a line in. Next thing I knew a nurse was waking me up in recovery and the first thing she said was, "They couldn't do your operation so you will be back in 2 months to have it done." No explanation, nothing. When they took me back to my room and Doug and Breanna came in I found out that they didn't even go tell him, he had no clue that it wasn't done. I didn't see a Dr. that night, the next morning the resident came in and told me I had too much scar tissue and they couldn't do it through my belly. Duhhh, they knew how many abdominal surgeries I have had, you would have thought they would have gone in through a small incision to check first, nope, wide open and 20 staples is how they found out.

I came home the day after surgery, which was Friday. Saturday night I was up at 4am because I was in pain, having a cup of tea when the phone rang, it was Doug's sister, telling us his brother's house was on fire. I sent him right to his Mom's house and he came back an hour later and said his brother was still alive but it didn't look good. That afternoon I got a call that his brother had passed away and I waited for him to get home from the store and we headed to his Mom's, she was at the hospital seeing his Dad and we wanted to get up there before she got there and found out. I've never seen my mother in-law cry in 18 years, it was very hard.

The following week we found out that my Uncle had cancer and they didn't think he had too long, maybe 3 months, his wife, my Mom's sister, just passed away a year and half ago, so much sadness in such a little amount of time.

The next weekend we had a memorial for Doug's brother, just a family thing then we went up to his Mom's after. Got a call the next morning that his Mom had been taken to the hospital by ambulance after falling through the night and laying on the floor for most of the night. So now we had both Doug's parents in the hospital. They kept her in because she had fluid on her lungs and they thought maybe she had a mini-stroke. She wasn't thinking quite right.

The following weekend I was going up to see my in-laws and ran into my cousin, who told me my Uncle was also in the hospital so I went to see him before I went home, he wasn't doing great but was awake and talking. And a phone call comes in the morning to tell me that he had passed away.

On top of all this, the place that Doug works at is on the verge of closing. The Union members had to have a vote last week to either keep it open and tear everything that the union has worked for up or close. The vote was a yes vote, barley but I still don't expect they will keep it open, I'll actually be shocked if they are still running by spring. So...now you see why I haven't blogged? So much has gone on in the last month, I'd love to go back to my very boring life

I go see my surgeon next Friday, can't wait to see him since I haven't actually seen him in almost 2 years. I didn't see him the day I had surgery, or the next day. Now I have to talk myself into this freaking surgery, again. And going through my belly was supposed to be the easy way, so this should be even more interesting, I really wish he would have just flipped me over and done it, it would be hard to heal but I wouldn't have to dread it...again.

Slacker...ya, that's me!

Yes, I know, I'm slack, I haven't been blogging much lately, mostly because there's just nothing blog worthy going on in my life. LOL

The kids are both doing well in school, Josh is enjoying his course and finding out that it's a lot different than high school. He's enjoying the time in the shop doing the hands on learning. He's keeping very busy going to school then some nights coming right now and going to work. Tomorrow is his first full day off since he started school, no school no work. You watch him get called in to work, he won't be happy. LOL Breanna is doing much better in school now that we've put her back in an English class. French immersion just wasn't for her, I should have pulled her out last fall when she had a bad first term but everyone kept telling me I had to give her time. She's back in a class with the best friend that she's had since she was 3, so they love that.

I did get some news a couple weeks ago about my back surgery. The day I got the call wasn't a good day. I've been waiting for a year and a half but the thought of it now being booked makes me sick to my stomach. Everyone says it's good that it will be done and I hope when it's all said and done I'm happy with the out come. The recovery time is 3-6 months so right now I can't make any plans for anything till after the new year. It's very scary, I'm petrified and think they should just put me to sleep a few days before. LOL It's hard when it's what everyone thinks I should have done but I'm scared that it's going to make my quality of life worse, not better. I want to be pain free but they can't promise me that, they've said that there is a 70% chance that I'll be 70% better. So I probably will never be pain free but hopefully it will be comfortable enough that I will be able to go back to doing more than I do now.

If you are from Liverpool and have moved away, check out this very interesting blog that a friend has started, Tim is full of knowledge about Liverpool and has so many interesting pictures and stories, it's my new favorite blog that I check out every day.

English horse tack

If I haven't told you yet, Breanna has given up cheerleading and taken up a new sport that has turned in to a new love, there's not much hope of her going back to cheering. She now rides at a local stable and hopes to some day be able to compete in shows. So with her riding I'm always looking for places to get great deals on things that she'll need. In my search I've come across a place where you can get some quality english horse tack for great prices. So if you or someone you know rides English, check this place out, if you are looking for it, you can find it!

It's a tad windy out there tonight, we are waiting on Tropical Storm Irene to hit. So far we are just getting some wind, rain hasn't hit yet but we aren't in the worst of it yet. The good thing is that it is supposed to be gone by morning with a sunny day and week to follow.

It's hard to believe that our summer is just about over. The kids are getting ready to go back to school, Breanna to grade 8 and Josh is off to NSCC. We are so proud of him, he got enough money in scholarships to pay his whole tuition. So we are just waiting for some refunds to come through and his student loan so we can find him a car. Until then we will still be a 1 car family with him taking Doug to work then heading to Bridgewater for school and I don't get to have the car even if I need it. LOL

Got the call made to Jr High to get Breanna taken out of French Immersion and put back in a regular class. She gave it a year and her marks just weren't good enough for us to leave her in it. I'd rather have her back in English and getting some decent marks.

Saw the Dr. on Friday and got some new meds to try, so far they aren't doing much but I hope in the next few days they start to work some magic, I have so much that needs to be done. My floors will soon get up and walk away and if I wait for someone else that lives here to do it...well I'll be dead and forgotten by that time.

So that's what's new with us, hope everyone is doing well.

What's up buttercup?

What's new my bloggy peeps out there in bloggy world? A lot has changed in the life of me. Well, not so much a lot. I have a high school graduate, who will turn the big 18 on Monday, I turned 42 and feel like I'm 98, Brea is coming out of french immersion and going back in to a regular English class to bring her marks back up, I hope.

Today I took the kids to Bridgewater to the Big Ex. I knew that it was going to be a killer for me, the last few years Jeff has been home and has taken Brea, Josh has never had much interest in going, he's not a big fan of the rides. Anyway, we spent, hmmm, let's see... 5 1/2 hours down there, with me either standing or walking all of the time, hence me being up at 1:35 am talking to my blog. I feel like someone is continuously stabbing a knife in my back and am having muscle spasms big time. Oh well, I knew it was going to happen but it made my baby girl happy, so that's the main thing right? I never got to go to anything like that with my parents, my Nanny always took me every year, for a whole day, it seemed like back then there were a lot more rides than there is now. Let's see, Brea went on the Freak Out, many times, the Full Tilt, 3 or 4 times, the Ferris Wheel once, the Swings once and the Tilt-A-Whirl once, the rest were little kids rides. She even brought most of her money home, only buying a "Cow Girl" hat, her BFF bought one also, so they can match :).

Anyway, I spose I should...ummm...go back to watching Big Brother live feeds, my guilty pleasure this year. LOL

Who doesn't love to shop and what makes shopping better? Well coupons of course! So many people are using coupons these days, with the prices as high as they are on everything, we don't have much choice. One of my favorite places to shop on the web is Personal Creations, I have ornaments and plaques and any other gift you can think of, from there. Class of 2011 LRHS

I'm not real sure how it happened but my baby boy is graduating from LRHS tomorrow. Seems like he just started school, at times I thought we'd never get through it but we did. He has made me and so many other people so proud, he has no idea how many people actually care. To think the Dr. didn't even really want me to have him because they didn't think he'd have much of a quality of life, well, guess he showed them eh?

I was telling him last night that the last grad I went to was Beth's, after the ceremony we took a quick trip to the hospital with her in her gown to see Grampie because he was too sick to come to grad. I'm so glad we did that because 2 weeks later he was gone. Grampie would be so proud of all his kids. I know he would shed a tear if he was here for Josh's grad. But I'm sure I'll shed enough for all of us.

After 13 years

After 13 years of school, today my boy wrote his last high school exam. Doesn't seem possible that it's that time already. Next Wed. night is his graduation, I've stocked up on small packages of Kleenex to get me through the night, I know I'm going to need them.

It sucks that I don't have any family left here with me but what I do have is some awesome friends that will be with me. 1 of which has been my friend since the day I was born, we've had a rough go of it lately but I think we are working through that and as usual, will be by each other's side during another huge milestone in our lives, births, too many deaths and many other things have come our way but together, we made it through it.

Debbie will also be with us as her youngest graduates and gets ready for the next step, off to the city in Sept. for university. How could this have happened? When did these kids grow up? Did we give them permission to do that? Debbie's beautiful daughter is going to do awesome in there, she's smart, she's pretty and she's got a good head on her shoulders.

Anyway, time to get some work done, we were in the city all day yesterday so nothing got done around here, just waiting for the Dr. to call with a referral to the pain Dr. in the city, it would be so nice to get rid of this pain for the summer.

Natural Testosterone Booster

Trying to find a natural supplement can be very difficult, no matter what you are looking for. Before you buy, always do your research before hand so that when you spend your money, you know that you are spending on it on something that will work for you. If you are looking for a natural testosterone booster, check out this site, where they have tested many of the supplements that are on the market and they rate them on a 6 point criteria and let you know what the top 3 boosters are.

City trip

Tomorrow is the 20th Annual Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Slowpitch tournament in the city. We are heading in tonight to stay in Dartmouth for the night so we can get to the tournament before 9 without leaving at the crack of dawn. LOL We are all ready to go, the kids got out of school early and Doug is stuck at work. We had a huge thunder and lightning storm the night before last and it royally screwed up all the machines in the mill. It was the biggest storm I can ever remember, the lightning didn't stop, she flashed and bolted continuously. We lost power shortly after mid-night and it was out till about 6am. One of the grocery stores lost all perishable items, all their milk and meat. They didn't get open again till 4 yesterday.

Josh is going to play ball tomorrow, should be interesting since he hasn't played ball since he was 4 and was in t-ball. LOL He has Grampie's mitt out and ready to go. He did great raising money, ended up with about $250.00. I'd love to say that I'll take lots of pictures but my brand new camera that I bought in April broke. I bought it from the Future Shop and I can tell you I'm not real happy with their customer service. I took it back, and the ones that waited on me were not very pleasant. So God knows when I'll have a camera again, not good timing with Josh graduating in a few weeks. I really wish I had gone with my instincts and bought a camera at Staples. At least then if something happened to it I could have returned it to Bridgewater and not had to drive to the city to take it back and then go back again when they get it fixed. It's not like it was a cheap camera. Oh well, Future Shop has lost my business from here on in, from now on I'll go to Staples or Best Buy for my electronics. If I had bought it at Staples I could have returned it and got another, since I was still in my first month.

Well I guess I should go finish packing, so we'll be ready to go if Doug ever gets out of work.

Now you can buy cord covers for them, they are so cool. I didn't even know there was such a thing on the market till today. Most are priced reasonably from $6.40 and up. With the great assortment of styles and colors there really is something for everyone.

We went out with a bang!

Cheer Intensity All Stars went out with a bang. We had a great weekend last weekend in Sydney and came home with the 1st place banner for Sr. 3! It was a very exciting and emotional weekend. Sunday's awards brought lots of smiles and lots of tears too, since it was the end of Cheer Intensity. After awards we had the long drive home, Bethy, who came and spent the weekend with us, drove to Port Hawkesbury then I drove the rest of the way, with 2 short stops, we got home around 12:10am, not too bad. It was great having Beth with us for the weekend. With her living 6 hours away we don't get to spend any amount of time together so it was a nice visit. Kinda sucked going all the way to Cape Breton and not getting to see the touristy places, I'd like to go back up for a weekend and see all the things we didn't get to see.

Today we had a short "practice" to end CIA's year. Was pretty laid back. Some of the team went out for lunch but since I had made an appointment to have Josh's grad pictures done this afternoon, we came home, which was just as well. Most of the kids are going to the city for cheer on the Elite team and Brea isn't going so I thought it was better just to bring her home. It bothers her more when the other kids are talking about it so coming home was a good idea.

Brea did start riding lessons yesterday, she's been asking for 5 years or so but now that she's done cheer till fall, if she goes back at all, I let her start riding. She loved it yesterday, she looked like an old pro by the end of the hour. I always loved horses too, I asked for 1 every year for Christmas but never got it. LMAO

Anyway, it's Survivor night so it's time to get the munchies ready!

TGIF

I gotta tell you, the only thing that is making me happy that it's Friday this week is the fact that today is supposed to be the last day that it rains for a few days. OMG the wet, damp weather really plays hell with my back and this week it has been terrible. Not much in the plans for the weekend, we have to clean out Breanna's dresser, which is always a long job. Lots to clean out that she's outgrown I'm sure.

I've been sitting here watching the Royal Wedding since I got up, I wasn't getting up at 5am to watch, since I didn't go to bed till 3, but I've been watching the re-run. What a beautiful wedding, and another People's Princess for the world to watch, she really is stunning.

So we're getting ready for Cheer Intensity's last competition, not just for this year but forever. Our coach Jason has decided to move on and go coach Cheer Elite in the city, one of the best cheer teams around. It's a great move for him but sucks for us. Breanna cried the other night for an hour when I told her. I have no idea what she'll do for next year. If I had known this was going to happen I would have never let her change teams this year. She has the opportunity to go to the city and be on Elite but that is $1400.00 and practices are twice a week, on week nights. So that's about 5 hours that she'd be gone from home. That is way too much for her. I know her school work would suffer and she would be miserable. Her school work has to come first, our kids start school before 8am so she's up early, right now she gets to sleep a little later because Josh takes the car every day, next year he'll be at NSCC and she'll be back on the bus, which gets here at 6:45am. So as heartbreaking as it is for both of us, we just can't do it. So stay tuned to see what she'll do for next year, she wants to stay with cheer but she also wants to still compete at level 3, which she did this year, so I just don't know

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! And a beautiful day it was. Today was the first day that really felt like spring was here. I got up at 9, after going to bed at 3, LOL, we went to Nanny and Papa's for dinner and then came home and spent most of the afternoon outside. Doug put the trampoline up and I guess I cheered him on. Wasn't that good of me? I kinda thought so.

It's been a hard week here in Liverpool, a lady from here has been missing since a week ago last Thursday. I feel so bad for her family, they have no answers as to where Laura is. I've known her all of my life I think, or most of it, I don't remember when I met her but I think maybe her Mom used to go to Mom to get her hair done. It's hard when something like this happens in a small town, we know everyone and it hurts when there are no answers. It's like she disappeared into thin air. Come home soon Laura.

Has Spring sprung

Yesterday was so nice here, I had all of the windows open and was in a very good mood all day, I love Spring, it's time to get out of the gloom and doom of our winter months. I guess we aren't there for sure yet since the temps are supposed to drop back down for a couple days. Long as we don't get any snow, we didn't have much but we don't need to see any now. So we had a competition last weekend, Full Force, held in Dartmouth by the Dartmouth Cheer Force Cheerleaders. It was a great comp for our team, we came away with our first 1st place of the year. You want to see excited, omg, we were so thrilled most of us were crying. They sure did a great job, they beat out a team that beat them at Expo by 30 points. So we know this team is going to be practicing like crazy to get ready for Provincials the first weekend in May. We have another comp this weekend but it's just a 1 day one in the Valley. We have to leave bright and early Sunday morning and will be back at some point Sunday night, hopefully our luck will hold out and we'll come home with another banner.

TGIF

Another week is over, looking forward to a pretty low key weekend. Maybe a trip to Bridgewater tonight or tomorrow to take back everything Josh bought yesterday when he went shopping, leave it to a man to not bother to try things on in the store. Sunday will be an early morning with cheer starting at 9am. Not quite as early as my mornings will be next weekend when we'll be in the city for Cheer Expo. I usually get up around 5 so I can get myself ready before waking any of the kids.

It's hard to believe that Expo is next weekend, the kids have worked so hard all winter getting ready for this and it's almost here. I'm so excited, can not wait to see them on the mat showing their stuff. We are going in Friday morning so we can do some shopping. Brea gets a day off school so she's looking forward to that.

I'm having some trouble getting around today so it's a good day to catch up on some of my blogging!

Spring ahead baby!

What is the best day of winter? The day we spring ahead! I can't wait to change the clocks, ya for it being light after supper, I think we are all ready for some more day light. We might have only had one snow storm this winter but I'm so over it! Bring on day light and some warmer temps, I need to get out walking to get this extra weight off that I've put on so easily over the last few months. I also ordered a game for the Wii that you walk with, I've tried doing other things but my back doesn't let me work out like most people can but I can walk so walking it will be. It still hurts but not as much as if I'm trying to do something that takes more of my back muscles.

So yesterday was an interesting day. Japan and a huge earthquake and tsunami, so scary, those poor people, I can't even imagine. And because of that there was a tsunami advisory for the west coast of BC, which is where my big sister is. I was talking to her right after I heard about it and told her it was time to come home. LOL She stayed at home because their house is at a high enough elevation that she didn't have to worry about it there, if she was at work it would be a different story. Anyway, the advisory lifted last night and nothing happened. What a relief that was.

Anyway, lots to do today, so I should get at it I guess!

Personalized Easter Baskets

It's time to start thinking of the next holiday, Easter! Yay! I can not say enough good things about this web site, it's one of the best and I buy from it a few times a year. A friend told me about it a couple years ago and I was hooked from the first time I went there. If you are looking for something so cute this year for Easter, check out these personalized Easter baskets for kids. They are SO adorable! My kids aren't too young anymore but I'm thinking that Brea might just be young enough even though she's a teen now, they are too adorable not to love.
With comp season sneaking up on us we are getting pretty busy. Bridgewater Sunday morning, back down last night and going down again tonight. I'll be glad when we have a few days off of running. My back is not loving spending so much time in the car, it can get pretty uncomfortable. We don't get home till around 10 so the girls are getting pretty tired.

Other than cheer, not much more has been going on. The weather is still stuck in winter mode, no snow but cold and windy, I'll be so glad when Spring gets here, I hate the cold and would love to be down south waiting for Spring to hit NS.

Today would have been my Aunt Shirley's birthday so I'm thinking about my family today as they go through another one of the "firsts" and we'll soon be at the 1 year mark since she's been gone.

Going to try and get some house stuff done in the next few weeks. Both kids rooms are getting painted, finally. Right now I just have to get border off the walls, I'm so glad they aren't papered but that's coming too, in the kitchen and living room. We've been here for 17 years and pretty much haven't done anything to it, so I'm looking forward to some changes.

Over the counter sleep aids

I have suffered from insomnia for the last 18 years, I hate it, the later I am awake the more annoyed I get and then I really can't go to sleep! LOL I have tried many OTC sleep aids, some work, some don't. Some of them have horrible side effects, you wake up in the morning feeling like you went on a bender the night before. Some of them put you to sleep but a couple of hours later you are wide awake again. If you use over the counter sleep aids, check out this great web site where they have reviews of the top OTC aids and rank them on 10 criteria.

Much better week

No car accidents to report this week, all has been calm. I'm so sick of winter that I thought I'd change up the blog page to look like summer, maybe it will come faster that way?

Breanna finally got a couple babysitting jobs, someone asked me if she'd babysit Saturday night for her 2 girls then my cousin called Friday night looking for someone to look after her 17 month old, Rhys, Brea was at a hockey game so I called to see if she'd like to do it and she was all for it. She made it through great even though the baby woke up about an hour before his Mom and Dad got home, I got a text saying, "Mom, he won't go back to sleep, what does he want?". LMAO Like I can say from here. I told her as long as she could keep him from crying, all would be good. So she made $50 for the weekend, it's great that she'll have spending money for when we go away to competitions. It's hard to come up with spending money when comp season is so short so we are away quite a bit.

Speaking of comp season, the kids are doing great, we've been short a couple of practices because of the weather so they don't have it all down yet, but it's getting there. We practiced last night till almost 9:30 in Bridgewater, it was so cold out, I couldn't wait to get home.

So along with the summery blog, I think I'm going to make a summer supper. Breanna mentioned the other day that we haven't had potatoes done on the BBQ so as long as there is enough propane in the BBQ, we'll have steak and potatoes summer style.

Anyway, did some exercises this morning and of course, that brings on more pain, so it's time to settle in and watch last night's episode of Hellcats, love this show!

Snowy, scary day.

We've had some snow in the last couple of weeks, finally, I was beginning to think we didn't live in Nova Scotia anymore :) On Tues. Josh had the car and was on his way home, he hasn't done much winter driving and is the car isn't the greatest in snow, I was worried because it had started snowing hard, the roads were snow covered and I knew he'd soon be on his way home, then the phone rings, I didn't recognize the number and in my heart I knew right away what it was. Sure enough, it was Josh, he said, "Mom, it's not good." My first question was are you okay. He was quite close to home, just out on the #3, he said the car slid off the road and he was okay, he was going to walk home to call Charles to see if he could come try and get the car out of the ditch. So I didn't think much of it, figured it was just in a little ditch and a 4x4 could pull it out. After he got home I realized that he had left the car unlocked, with the keys in it, so I thought we better walk back to the car to get the keys. When we got there and I got a look at where it was, I knew there would be no 4x4 pulling it out, it was in quite a big ditch and was ready to roll over, i wouldn't even open the door to get the keys out, I was scared to touch it. I called Doug and told him to call a tow truck. When Clyde got there to pull it out he asked if we had collision because he was scared he was going to roll it when he started to pull it out. There is some damage to the front of it, looks like nothing but is quite costly.

It wasn't till yesterday that I actually started to think about the accident, I never thought of the "could have happened" on Tuesday. When reality is, that road has 18 wheelers travelling both ways, all day. It's a very busy highway. Josh was so lucky that nothing was coming because he didn't just lose control and go in the ditch, he lost control and it went across the road in to the ditch, we were so lucky and I believe that Grampy was watching over his boy. When I mentioned it to Josh he was shocked that I hadn't thought of it on Tues. because he thought of it soon as he got out of the car.

So right now he doesn't want to drive in the snow and won't be doing it by himself for awhile. It's so hard to teach the how to deal with slippery roads from the passenger side. He saw me gain control last week one day when the car slid but it's hard to explain. I made him get in the car and drive to work when Doug was taking him that night, the roads were good by then and I knew he needed to get right back in and drive.

Anyway, it all turned out good, it happened, he didn't get hurt, I think he now realizes that he has to slow down when the roads are bad, he knows that it can happen and hopefully will learn from this.

Got snow...

We have had a very snow free winter so far this year, until today. We got hit last night with a storm that brought about 10cms or so and then today I think we have another 20-30, it's a little white out there! Needless to say, the kids didn't have school today and I really can't see it happening tomorrow.

Not much else happening around here. I did have my follow up appointment with the surgeon and am very happy to say that everything was cancer free! Yay!

Cheer is keeping us busy as usual for winter, getting ready for competition season. We won't compete until Cheer Expo at the end of March, there is one before that we would have liked to do but some of the kids have testing that weekend and wouldn't have been able to take part so we want to wait until we have everyone. We are heading to the city on Sunday to practice at Cheer Extreme's gym so that the kids have the big space and spring floor to use. Can't wait to see the routine!

Sometimes it's a fight you need to fight but you should do it the easiest way possible for you.

Is there life out there?

I guess I have officially been home too long when my day revolves around Regis & Kelly. LOL Actually my day doesn't have to revolve around it, it's on the DVR so I can watch whenever. At least I'm not watching soaps...yet. LOL

We woke up to a wee little bit of snow, just a couple of cms. We are still waiting for our first big storm, it's not normal for it to be the 20th of Jan. and we haven't had a big storm. We were supposed to get one tomorrow but I guess now they are saying it will be a snow/rain event, which is what we've had every time we've had snow.

I spent yesterday catching up on some cheer paperwork that needed to be done, which I had been putting off but it really wasn't that bad and didn't take me too long at all, then I went back to TV. LOL

My nails are driving me nuts, I want to cut them off so bad but Breanna and I are going to have manicures Saturday morning, for the first time ever, for both of us. Meikka gave then to us for Christmas. Getting Brea there should be very interesting, she's going to an all night birthday party Friday night, it's not a sleep over, there will be no sleep. The master party planner has plans for the whole night, she's such a brave woman. So that's over at 9am and our appointment is at 11am. She insists that she wants to keep the appointment so she damn well better get out of bed to go have it done.

Diet Pills

Who doesn't want to lose weight? I know there are plenty of people who don't need to but I'm not one of them, that's for sure. They check out some of the top diet pills and then rank them on 8 criteria and then tell you which ones came in the top 10.

Gettin better

I thought I had it made on Sunday, woke up feeling great, no pain, just sore, went to cheer, had a great day. Then Monday rolls around, my middle incision was sore and hard as a rock, a lot of pain where my ovary would have been. I put up with it till last night when a couple of friends were threatening to drag me to the hospital, LOL. Anyway, Gary was on call so it just took a minute once I finally got in there, infection and a blood clot around the incision. I'm on antibiotics and should be feeling better tomorrow. Sleeping is hard, every time I turn over I wake up so last night I slept most of the night in my lazy boy, that way I'm not trying to roll over and waking up every hour.

Galaxy Tablet PC.

I always have a list of electronics that I'd like to have and this one tops my list right now. I have the Galaxy S phone and LOVE it so it's only natural for me to want the Galaxy Tablet PC. This looks so cool, I love apps, I have lots for my phone, I can just imagine how many I'd have with this. If you have thought of buying one for yourself, check out The Source, where they have free shipping to any store location. So even if it's not in-stock in your local store, you can have it shipped there and just run in and pick it up, easy as pie.

Julbo Explorer Glacier Glasses

I was looking around on line for some sunglasses and came across these, Julbo Explorer Glacier Glasses. They are top of the line Julbo Explorer sunglasses, which are designed to perform the best at high altitudes. Being up too high can cause eye damage from the sun and reflections. I've never seen or even heard about these but they are very cool looking!

Surgery is OvEr!

Well that one is over anyway. Went in yesterday morning and came home minus an ovary, a few cysts and some things that were questionable, everything has been sent off and now we just wait for the pathology report. I'm pretty sore today so haven't been up and around quite as much as I was yesterday when I got home but you know, other people need their beauty sleep, so I was on my own for awhile.

I didn't sleep much last night, I stayed out in my lazy boy where I didn't have to worry about getting punched in the gut. I slept from about 1:30-4:30 then after Doug went to work I turned on my heated mattress pad and blanket and waited an hour for my bed to be nice and toasty then had a 4 hour nap, would have been even longer if my daughter hadn't decided to call and check on me. LOL

I was telling them in the OR yesterday that I've been waiting to have my back done, they told me to expect another 2 years, I guess orthopedic surgery has gotten even more backlogged. Once I'm feeling better I'll call the booking nurse and see what she's telling me now, I really want it over-with, it's time to be pain free, or at least in a minimal amount of pain.

Anyway, time to get back to my book, still waiting for my Kindle to come but I already have books on my wishlist just waiting!

We made it!

We made it! No heart attacks happened, it came and went and went well. I got the things I needed at the last minute and even though it wasn't as much as they used to get, they didn't mind at all. Josh worked Christams Eve till 10 and went back in Christmas Day 3-10, so both nights Breanna and I went over to visit him for awhile, it was very hard not having him here. The kids other parents, across the road, came over Christmas Eve when Josh got off, so we could have our Christmas with them, they were here till about 12, I got to bed around 2 and Josh was the first one up, around 8. We opened pressies and relaxed a bit then were off to Doug's parents for dinner. Jeff, Kelly and Meagan came down after dinner for a visit.

No plans here for New Years, well I shouldn't say no plans, I think we are going to go to Bridgewater to see a movie, better than nothing. If Jeff and Kell had been staying till New Years we probably would have gone over to Alley 9 with them for awhile but they are leaving tomorrow so we aren't going out. Some friends want us to go to a dance but I have gained so much weight that I can't get my dress clothes on and I'm not planning to stay this size so I refuse to buy any new clothes. Except PJ's, I need to get a couple pair of jammies just in-case I have to stay in the hospital when I have surgery. I'm booked for day surgery but it depends on if they have to open me right up or do it with the little incisions. Just my luck he'd keep me and I only have 1 good pair of PJ pants.

Doug and I didn't exchange gifts this year so I got a new heating pad from my in-laws and a vibrating frog from Meikka, an Angel from my Aunt and then this morning I got up to a wonderful surprise, my big Sis bought me a Kindle, something I've wanted for the last year. I spend so much on books since there isn't much I can do. I can't wait to get it. I might not have much family but at times like this I know that I have the family I need. I love her very much and miss her enough to turn me in to a bawling mess at times.

Anyway, thought I'd better check in before you all thought I did have that heart attack and fall in the tree :) Times I thought I could, not from a heart attack but from pain, but I've got my eye on the prize, 2011 is going to be a year to get fixed up and move on and even though I know it's going to be hell, with my friends I know I will be well looked after, they know who they are and I hope they know how much I love them.
