Class of 2011 LRHS

I'm not real sure how it happened but my baby boy is graduating from LRHS tomorrow. Seems like he just started school, at times I thought we'd never get through it but we did. He has made me and so many other people so proud, he has no idea how many people actually care. To think the Dr. didn't even really want me to have him because they didn't think he'd have much of a quality of life, well, guess he showed them eh?

I was telling him last night that the last grad I went to was Beth's, after the ceremony we took a quick trip to the hospital with her in her gown to see Grampie because he was too sick to come to grad. I'm so glad we did that because 2 weeks later he was gone. Grampie would be so proud of all his kids. I know he would shed a tear if he was here for Josh's grad. But I'm sure I'll shed enough for all of us.

After 13 years

After 13 years of school, today my boy wrote his last high school exam. Doesn't seem possible that it's that time already. Next Wed. night is his graduation, I've stocked up on small packages of Kleenex to get me through the night, I know I'm going to need them.

It sucks that I don't have any family left here with me but what I do have is some awesome friends that will be with me. 1 of which has been my friend since the day I was born, we've had a rough go of it lately but I think we are working through that and as usual, will be by each other's side during another huge milestone in our lives, births, too many deaths and many other things have come our way but together, we made it through it.

Debbie will also be with us as her youngest graduates and gets ready for the next step, off to the city in Sept. for university. How could this have happened? When did these kids grow up? Did we give them permission to do that? Debbie's beautiful daughter is going to do awesome in there, she's smart, she's pretty and she's got a good head on her shoulders.

Anyway, time to get some work done, we were in the city all day yesterday so nothing got done around here, just waiting for the Dr. to call with a referral to the pain Dr. in the city, it would be so nice to get rid of this pain for the summer.

City trip

Tomorrow is the 20th Annual Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Slowpitch tournament in the city. We are heading in tonight to stay in Dartmouth for the night so we can get to the tournament before 9 without leaving at the crack of dawn. LOL We are all ready to go, the kids got out of school early and Doug is stuck at work. We had a huge thunder and lightning storm the night before last and it royally screwed up all the machines in the mill. It was the biggest storm I can ever remember, the lightning didn't stop, she flashed and bolted continuously. We lost power shortly after mid-night and it was out till about 6am. One of the grocery stores lost all perishable items, all their milk and meat. They didn't get open again till 4 yesterday.

Josh is going to play ball tomorrow, should be interesting since he hasn't played ball since he was 4 and was in t-ball. LOL He has Grampie's mitt out and ready to go. He did great raising money, ended up with about $250.00. I'd love to say that I'll take lots of pictures but my brand new camera that I bought in April broke. I bought it from the Future Shop and I can tell you I'm not real happy with their customer service. I took it back, and the ones that waited on me were not very pleasant. So God knows when I'll have a camera again, not good timing with Josh graduating in a few weeks. I really wish I had gone with my instincts and bought a camera at Staples. At least then if something happened to it I could have returned it to Bridgewater and not had to drive to the city to take it back and then go back again when they get it fixed. It's not like it was a cheap camera. Oh well, Future Shop has lost my business from here on in, from now on I'll go to Staples or Best Buy for my electronics. If I had bought it at Staples I could have returned it and got another, since I was still in my first month.

Well I guess I should go finish packing, so we'll be ready to go if Doug ever gets out of work.

Cord Covers

Do you want to hide your ugly power cords? You try and hide them behind furniture but with all that we have to use, hiding them is not an easy thing. Now you can buy cord covers for them, they are so cool. I didn't even know there was such a thing on the market till today. Most are priced reasonably from $6.40 and up. With the great assortment of styles and colors there really is something for everyone.

We went out with a bang!

Cheer Intensity All Stars went out with a bang. We had a great weekend last weekend in Sydney and came home with the 1st place banner for Sr. 3! It was a very exciting and emotional weekend. Sunday's awards brought lots of smiles and lots of tears too, since it was the end of Cheer Intensity. After awards we had the long drive home, Bethy, who came and spent the weekend with us, drove to Port Hawkesbury then I drove the rest of the way, with 2 short stops, we got home around 12:10am, not too bad. It was great having Beth with us for the weekend. With her living 6 hours away we don't get to spend any amount of time together so it was a nice visit. Kinda sucked going all the way to Cape Breton and not getting to see the touristy places, I'd like to go back up for a weekend and see all the things we didn't get to see.

Today we had a short "practice" to end CIA's year. Was pretty laid back. Some of the team went out for lunch but since I had made an appointment to have Josh's grad pictures done this afternoon, we came home, which was just as well. Most of the kids are going to the city for cheer on the Elite team and Brea isn't going so I thought it was better just to bring her home. It bothers her more when the other kids are talking about it so coming home was a good idea.

Brea did start riding lessons yesterday, she's been asking for 5 years or so but now that she's done cheer till fall, if she goes back at all, I let her start riding. She loved it yesterday, she looked like an old pro by the end of the hour. I always loved horses too, I asked for 1 every year for Christmas but never got it. LMAO

Anyway, it's Survivor night so it's time to get the munchies ready!
