Over the counter sleep aids
I have suffered from insomnia for the last 18 years, I hate it, the later I am awake the more annoyed I get and then I really can't go to sleep! LOL I have tried many OTC sleep aids, some work, some don't. Some of them have horrible side effects, you wake up in the morning feeling like you went on a bender the night before. Some of them put you to sleep but a couple of hours later you are wide awake again. If you use over the counter sleep aids, check out this great web site where they have reviews of the top OTC aids and rank them on 10 criteria.

Much better week
No car accidents to report this week, all has been calm. I'm so sick of winter that I thought I'd change up the blog page to look like summer, maybe it will come faster that way?
Breanna finally got a couple babysitting jobs, someone asked me if she'd babysit Saturday night for her 2 girls then my cousin called Friday night looking for someone to look after her 17 month old, Rhys, Brea was at a hockey game so I called to see if she'd like to do it and she was all for it. She made it through great even though the baby woke up about an hour before his Mom and Dad got home, I got a text saying, "Mom, he won't go back to sleep, what does he want?". LMAO Like I can say from here. I told her as long as she could keep him from crying, all would be good. So she made $50 for the weekend, it's great that she'll have spending money for when we go away to competitions. It's hard to come up with spending money when comp season is so short so we are away quite a bit.
Speaking of comp season, the kids are doing great, we've been short a couple of practices because of the weather so they don't have it all down yet, but it's getting there. We practiced last night till almost 9:30 in Bridgewater, it was so cold out, I couldn't wait to get home.
So along with the summery blog, I think I'm going to make a summer supper. Breanna mentioned the other day that we haven't had potatoes done on the BBQ so as long as there is enough propane in the BBQ, we'll have steak and potatoes summer style.
Anyway, did some exercises this morning and of course, that brings on more pain, so it's time to settle in and watch last night's episode of Hellcats, love this show!

Snowy, scary day.
We've had some snow in the last couple of weeks, finally, I was beginning to think we didn't live in Nova Scotia anymore :) On Tues. Josh had the car and was on his way home, he hasn't done much winter driving and is the car isn't the greatest in snow, I was worried because it had started snowing hard, the roads were snow covered and I knew he'd soon be on his way home, then the phone rings, I didn't recognize the number and in my heart I knew right away what it was. Sure enough, it was Josh, he said, "Mom, it's not good." My first question was are you okay. He was quite close to home, just out on the #3, he said the car slid off the road and he was okay, he was going to walk home to call Charles to see if he could come try and get the car out of the ditch. So I didn't think much of it, figured it was just in a little ditch and a 4x4 could pull it out. After he got home I realized that he had left the car unlocked, with the keys in it, so I thought we better walk back to the car to get the keys. When we got there and I got a look at where it was, I knew there would be no 4x4 pulling it out, it was in quite a big ditch and was ready to roll over, i wouldn't even open the door to get the keys out, I was scared to touch it. I called Doug and told him to call a tow truck. When Clyde got there to pull it out he asked if we had collision because he was scared he was going to roll it when he started to pull it out. There is some damage to the front of it, looks like nothing but is quite costly.
It wasn't till yesterday that I actually started to think about the accident, I never thought of the "could have happened" on Tuesday. When reality is, that road has 18 wheelers travelling both ways, all day. It's a very busy highway. Josh was so lucky that nothing was coming because he didn't just lose control and go in the ditch, he lost control and it went across the road in to the ditch, we were so lucky and I believe that Grampy was watching over his boy. When I mentioned it to Josh he was shocked that I hadn't thought of it on Tues. because he thought of it soon as he got out of the car.
So right now he doesn't want to drive in the snow and won't be doing it by himself for awhile. It's so hard to teach the how to deal with slippery roads from the passenger side. He saw me gain control last week one day when the car slid but it's hard to explain. I made him get in the car and drive to work when Doug was taking him that night, the roads were good by then and I knew he needed to get right back in and drive.
Anyway, it all turned out good, it happened, he didn't get hurt, I think he now realizes that he has to slow down when the roads are bad, he knows that it can happen and hopefully will learn from this.
