Welcome to 2009

We had a very quiet New Years Eve here, the kids were over across the road for most of the evening and Doug and I just hung out, watched TV and had some snacks. We had planned to go to the movie in Bridgewater but a big snow storm changed those plans. It was a wild night, it was actually called a blizzard and it made me very glad that we didn't plan to go out to a dance like we normally do. Standing out in the freezing cold in a snow storm waiting for a taxi didn't sound like a good time. LOL So our movie has been postponed till tomorrow. Then I may go back down on the weekend for a girls movie, if I can get Breanna to stay home. I think DL will be up for it and Wendy mentioned she'd like to see it too, the movie is Marley and Me, after reading about it from some parents that went, I really don't think it's a good movie for Breanna to see, at least not till it comes out on video when she can walk away from it if she wants to.

So with the holidays behind me, I have only one question, WTH have I done? People on 2 totally different sides of my family seem to have forgotten about me or just don't want to bother with me and I can honestly tell you, I have no idea why. One, I've gotten strange vibes from since last summer but now can tell something is wrong, the other, I haven't got the foggiest idea. And I'm tired of trying to figure it out honestly.

Anyway, it's been a very lazy day in the Wamboldt house, we've laid around and watched TV for most of the day, the kids have been playing the Wii, one game we rented for them and now I'm sure it'll be on their list of things to buy. Josh has enough money that if he wants it he can buy it when we go to Bridgewater tomorrow, with Doug off work for 4 more weeks and Christmas just over, I'm not buying anything! LOL

Engagement rings

Who doesn't like diamonds? I know I do! When I got engaged we didn't do the ring thing though. We didn't have much money and decided we'd wait and I'd get a ring later and concentrated more on having money to get married. All over for another year

It's comes and it goes and now it's all over except for the clean up and paying the CC bills. LOL I think the kids had a great Christmas, they got what they asked for, plus some extras. I got some nice stuff from LaSenza and a diamond necklace. I had a rough day yesterday with it being the first one without Mom and having no other family here. When Linda called last night I bawled like a baby, made worse by talking to Beth and then Matt, I miss them all so much. But I'm doing better today and looking forward to a night out with some friends. I think we'll head out to my cousin's house for some drinks then off to Alley 9 for their Boxing day party. We haven't done this before but with our decision to stay home for New Years I thought we should have a night out tonight. Last night I decided I think we'll go to Bridgewater for a movie on NYE and then come home and have some fireworks. It will be our first year staying home with the kids since the year we had Brea and the kids are looking forward to it.

We went out for a great visit

I finally made it over to visit June and Wendy, we weren't sure they would recognize me since I haven't been there for 2 months, but like I told them, I still look the same just older and tireder, is that a word? LOL

Anyway, Breanna and I stayed a couple of hours, us grown-ups chatted an caught up and Breanna snuggled with Charlie, Sam's dog. I'm shocked she didn't try and sneak out with him. Then we came home for supper, which consisted of frozen dinners for the kids and some homemade candy for Mom. LOL Yea, I'm bad. But it was sooo good! Wendy made it and I'm not sure there will be any left when Doug gets off at 8. He's working late tonight, shutting down the mill, this will be his last shift for 5 weeks, as the mill is shutting down. Sucks for us but we just hope that at the end of 5 weeks they are back to work. Luckily I'm still working so we won't starve to death, I don't think...
